I really don't think so. My OTA adapter doesn't get any warmer than my Roku streaming stick

It depends on the model of the adapter. Those older, tiny ones with the detachable USB cable are infamous here for their overheating problem. The newer ones seem to run much cooler by comparison.

I've had this problem for months. I've found that tuning to a couple of different OTA channels before going back to what I was watching will almost always clear up the pixelization.

I have one of the DISH dual OTA tuners.

Unfortunately doesn't work for shows that suffered the pixelation while recorded. I use my 4 tuner Tablo to back up my ota recordings, which has paid off more lately than not. They need to fix the software already.
