So what's going on with CNN?

From reports on downdetector dot com, it seems to only be a Dish problem.

It's been a black screen for, what, more than an hour now? I've been trying to raise Dish's attention on twitter to no avail.

Hhhmm. I've been watching CNN for a couple of hours - no problems here.

If it was a dead transponder I'd think we'd be getting a "no signal" message. Sounds more like a dead encoder, but why they wouldn't have a plan to re-route such a thing without taking over an hour and a half is beyond me!

We can’t all be having the same issue in so many locations (Missouri to New Jersey) if it was just weather to our homes. Could it be weather on the Dish side?

I was just checking it out and all of a sudden the program popped back up. All seems to be ok on the eastern arc now. There were no weather issues around either Gilbert, AZ or Cheyenne, WY. Must have been gremlins...

I don't really watch CNN, but I just checked Ch 200 from North of Spokane,Wa and all is okay here.

I remeber a few years ago, I was watching TV, clear night and lost signal. Check switch wouldn't pass so I grabbed a ladder and my meter, up to the Dish and 72 was fine, but 61 showed no signal. So I figured my LNB went bad, climbed down, grabbed another one and back up the ladder where my meter was still on and the 61 showed a little bit of signal. Hmmm, so I watched and over the next few minutes it slowly came back up to normal signal strength and never had a problem again, but other's had reported the same signal loss at the same time
