Buy Gift Cards and stock up then, if you do not want to go to any of the many stores that sells them, then buy them at Amazon, you can get either Physical or Digital redeemable cards.

That is what I do, used to buy them and stock up when they went on sale, now I use the bonus points from Amazon and Capital One cards to purchase them, the only service I pay $$$ for is Disney+ ( bought the 3 year plan at $140), Discovery+ and soon HBO MAX ( they no longer sell Gift Cards and my carry over balance from HBO NOW ends in March).

With my Gift Card loophole, I will be only paying roughy $30 a month for TV content and I have You Tube TV, Netflix, Hulu, CBS, Discovery ( for the wife), Disney and HBO, my total costs with Broadband is only $130 a month which is close to what most pay for DirecTV.

I have a Visa or American Express or a Master Card that should work just fine with any of them, then I don't need to go out and get Gift cards ...

I don't know why thats an issue with any of them, you can buy anything in the world with them, just not subs to Stream with.

It is bizarre that Netflix doesn't allow customers to pre-pay for a year if they want. Lots of other streaming services (Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Showtime, etc.) do this now, at a discount versus the regular monthly price. It's a way for them to reduce churn and incentivize subscribers to stick around long-term.

Turning the service off and then back on isn't getting you a deal on pricing ....

I can call D* and tell them I want to pay them for the year and they will make me an offer .... I will be doing that next month.

Of course you can, but doing that leaves your Credit Card on file and they take it out every month, I'd rather not leave cards on file.

I much prefer to pay whenI have the extra money than have these type of bills coming in monthly.

As is to be expected if they are giving you more product. These original programs that people think they should get with their sat service because they pay for a package that included a channel that shares a similar name isn't free.

CBS isn't CBS all access. Discovery isn't Discovery +

For that matter, some ESPN channels are in different packages. Just because someone pays for a package that includes ESPN, doesn't mean they get access to all of their content on their other channels. (I know this last part isn't directly related to what you said, but I did think it relevant considering some posts made, and you saying they are pumping out so much programming)

I give them the amount in Feb usually for the year.
What they do with it from there, I don't know ...
I'm sure they are happy to have my money and I'm happy to not get a bill each month.

I'll look every now and then to se where I stand with my running total counting down.

You can prepay for a year, but it is a way Jimbo does not wish to do, both BJs and Sam’s Club sells Netflix card at a discount, $100 card is $94.99 at both ( also they always go on sale between Black Friday and xmas, usually 20% off at Amazon, Best Buy, etc), buy 3 cards, redeem them and you are prepaid for a year and a few months, easy.

I do this with all the streaming services that I subscribe to that takes a gift card ( except I use my bonus points on my credit cards to purchase), for example Hulu-Expiration Date: 03/15/22 and Netflix-Your account is paid until August 19, 2022.

That’s the whole problem. Dish used to offer 1 month free when you paid for a year.

With the way the packages are structured today, it’s impossible to pay for a year unless you just want a credit balance sitting on the account.

It’s honestly better to just go on auto pay if you don’t want to be bothered with A monthly bill.

I give them my card initially and have them remove it once the transaction is done.
If my bill is say (a round figure) $1500 a year, my account shows $1500 ...

Unlike other companies that fail to allow themselves to do that.

Income tax comes around that time each year.

I have never been able to find them discounted at all ...
Therefore I end up going down to the local food mart (Krogers) and get the card, (NC for the actual card) place money on the card and then come home and go to Netflix.com/redeem or something like that and put the gift card on the account.
Its just a waste of time to do that, when a) I already have my CC on Netflix account (only because they require it, probably because they don't trust people with thier money to pay month to month)

I have excellent credit and have never missed a payment, ever, with ANYONE ...

But they still won't just take my money and put it on account ...
If they were to think about it, they could make a lot more money off the peoples money that they would be able to do by the year accounts with.

If that were true, they would be doing it. Way, waayy, back in college when I took finance, they had a term: "The future value of money". But a lot has changed since the 1970s and I don't know that old rules apply anymore. Who would have thought that we would ever come to where you had to pay the bank to take your money (as has happened in Europe) and that mortgage rates would ever get below 5%?

I'm just guessing, but I imagine a year's pre-pay costs them more than your monthly contributions. As we learned this week with Gamestop etc., money works very different than we think it should work.

Either way, it's silly that Netflix doesn't offer this option directly to consumers like most other major streaming services.

Just redeemed a free offer for 6 months from Verizon on the 6.99 plan no commercials after 6 months they add it to my cell bill if I want to keep it. Lots of shows on the app to watch.
