DISH Named #1 Nationally in "Overall Customer Satisfaction" by J.D. Power for Four Straight Years
September 23, 2021

- DISH has earned more J.D. Power Awards for customer satisfaction with TV service nationally than any other brand
- Ranked #1 in six study factors, including "Performance and Reliability" and "Features and Functionality" among nationally ranked brands

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 23, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, DISH was named #1 in Overall Customer Satisfaction with TV Service by J.D. Power nationally for the fourth year in a row in the J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Residential Television Service Provider Satisfaction Study. DISH is the most awarded brand nationally for customer satisfaction with TV service by J.D. Power.

We are dedicated to going above and beyond to serve our customers, and we're proud to offer solutions and support that customers trust. Earning this J.D. Power award for a fourth year in a row is a testament to our team's service to DISH customers and the hard work we deliver every day to exceed our customers' expectations," said Erik Carlson, DISH chief executive officer. "I want to thank all of our team members and customers for making us number one for the fourth straight year."

"Our brand promise is built around 'Tuned in to You,' and focuses on listening to our customers, being advocates on their behalf and delivering the best service, technology and value in the market," said Brian Neylon, group president, DISH TV. "I want to give an extra-special thanks to all of our in-home service technicians, our customer service, sales and loyalty agents, and all the team members who support them. Keeping customers top of mind in everything we do is a core principle of ours and this recognition helps show our efforts."

In addition to earning #1 in "Overall Customer Satisfaction," DISH ranked #1 in six study factors, including "Performance and Reliability," "Features and Functionality," "Customer Service," "Cost of Service," "Billing and Payment" and "Communications and Promotions" among nationally ranked brands.

DISH continues to innovate with its award-winning Hopper whole-home DVR platform with features like the incorporation of Google Assistant technology into the DISH voice remote, Google Nest integration and built-in apps, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, YouTube Kids, Gallery, DISHscapes and DraftKings. DISH also offers the best live and streaming programming, providing more than 100,000 on-demand titles in addition to the recently enhanced DISH Anywhere app. DISH Anywhere provides customers streaming access to premium live, on-demand and recorded content included with their service while on the go, as well as the ability to cast to TVs and display content via picture-in-picture so they never miss a minute of their favorite content.

DISH has also introduced customer service features like "MyTech," an online appointment tool available via the MyDISH app, where customers receive personalized information about their service appointment, including the picture, name and location of their DISH technician. The company also expanded its home entertainment installation services available to DISH customers, including whole-home wireless networking installation and optimization, TV mounting, security system installation, cameras and smart-home devices, and more.

Congratulations to dish. The biggest issue is still how to train their customer service to answer technical difficulties on the phone. They are super nice and polite. Yet, you can tell they (not all) read from manual when you have a question. Oh well, at least somebody answers the phone.

This is great and validates my posts about Dish being the best provider and worth what is, maybe, a higher cost. It makes me dizzy to read about all of the different combinations of OTT and streaming service providers it takes to get what you get from Dish for not much, if any, of a monthly savings. In addition, having to know which app has the program you're looking for and the constantly changing inputs and logging out of one app to log into another, makes my head spin.

None of the streaming or OTT options has anything that even comes close to the Hopper 3 and the whole home experience you get from Dish. Also, might sound trivial, the Dish remote is superior to the others, like Spectrum and Direct TV, that I have seen.

I know there are a lot of complaints about the guide, most of which I have personally not experienced or don't care about, but the Dish guide still makes more sense and is much more functional than the others I have seen. And, if the guide is the biggest complaint that ain't too bad!

I would never make the claim that Dish is perfect or that there is nothing that needs to be improved but I will say again, that I am a satisfied Dish customer. But also, I really appreciate the acumen of so many posters to this forum and I am certain that they have led to the level of satisfaction that I profess to enjoy, so thank you for that. However, I wish there were more that would also offer commendation where it is deserved.

You sure you don't work for Dish?:)

If Dish can fix the 4PIP Bar Mode (PIP Multi-view) feature, that would go a REALLY long way to putting up with all the other smaller bugs. Still, Dish is our preferred provider and we are still mostly a linear TV family, especially dear old mom who could NEVER get the hang of the FireTV/Roku mini remotes with too FEW buttons that are not intuitive for her to control and make it difficult to be precise with her tremors.

But best of all is the ability to DVR and and still have TV to watch when the internet goes out, and this has happened a few times, the last outage lasted almost 2 full days, and we have reliable ISP service. At some point we may have to move on, but the H3 is the real thing that kept us from leaving Dish and linear TV.

Until we can save our own personal recordings of content--saved at home, "locally", under the protection of Fair Use--from streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, etc., Dish is still the better option because, ONCE AGAIN, Netflix lost digital rights to a series I was watching before I could finish them, but I did happen to have most of the recordings of the final Series (British TV term) sitting on my Dish DVR as back-up for when I reached that point. I still had to go to YouTube for 2 episodes I did not have at all--and with AWFUL top and bottom cut off of the YouTube postings--but it brought home the still powerful usefulness of being able to save recordings at home for later viewing for as long as we wish.

At some point I may have to leave linear TV most likely because of costs, but until I have to, I will stay with Dish IF they continue to provide good service, keep providing good TV channels, and good technology equipment like the H3.
