Wonder why the Hopper 3 & HWS ends with 22 and all the other equipment end with 21!

I assumed it was a typo in the list. Either that, or an update to a feature that is only available in those models failed with the 21 version, and had to be quickly replaced with a corrected 22 version.

In any event, I am just glad to see those numbers (222 and 322) being associated with newer Dish receivers in any form. Anything to make the Hoppers more like the legacy SD and/or ViP receivers. :biggrin

I can confirm the new version numbers. Hopper 3 is on H322. All available Joey versions listed end in 21. Wally is on W521.

I think I may have found the problem with the 21 version. As soon as my Wally finished the downloading progress bar and went to the "do not disturb your receiver..." screen, it rebooted. When it came back up, it was in Boot Recovery mode. I let that Boot Recovery screen finish, then turned the Wally back on as soon as it was back to the regular screensaver. I checked to make sure the Wally is on the latest software version, and it did successfully complete the download. I have not noticed any other problems since then. However, I will note that the Hopper 3 did not have to go to Boot Recovery when it installed H322.

It occurs to me that Dish is exactly five months late releasing these versions. They could have released version 222 on 2/22/22 at 2:22 AM. Missed opportunity! :biggrin

Well, now all that is left to do is wait for version X23. Wait, isn't that a clone of Wolverine? ;)

I did not check to see which version that I had, but I downloaded a version and the H3 rebooted twice and I now have H319. Oh well!

Same here, still on H319, must be some prerequisites that must exist. I wonder what?
I think it makes sense that I would be among those who get the update right away, since I am a former beta tester. However, neither of my current receivers were ever tied to my beta account. My sister used to use one of my old beta-tested Wally receivers on her account. She would always seem to get the latest public software updates around a week before everyone else here started seeing the new version.

I finally got the H320 upgrade but only because our Hopper 3 was replaced.

Last week a very bad thunderstorm in the early morning hrs. knocked out the power. Huge kaboom and a flash of light close to the house, when I turned on the TV after the power was restored there was no signal.
We could watch DVR recordings but that was all.
The wired Joey in the bdrm and the 55" Samsung were goners.
I don't recommend this as a way to upgrade. LOL

Techs are reporting issues with this new Software 322 on Hopper 3's. If you install your own receiver, Skip Back - Recall - Skip Back no longer breaks out of the Wizard, and check switches are not properly running. one tech reports that 2 hopper 3s so far won't check switch and are picking up western if it's eastern and eastern if it's western. I had to unplug coax and save a check switch that shows nothing, reset and check switch again to fix
The new Hopper Plus button sequence to exit the wizard is Skip Forward - Recall - Skip Forward. That may work if you run into it

I can report pause on live tv does not work. Forward or reverse does not either

Hey everyone,

I am Charlie. Not the Charlie, but a Charlie. I work in Technical Operations and oversee the Beta program for most equipment lines. I also aid in the creation of software roll out plans. I spoke with Scott and going forward I will try to help clear up any confusion regarding the software roll out process and escalate any issues you may see because of it. While I cannot provide answers or resolutions on every situation, I will do my best to make sure I address anything I possibly can.

So to start out I would like to explain how our roll out process works in general. We take ranges of receiver IDs and release software in smaller batches and increase the numbers over a period of a few weeks. This is why when a new release is live it will not immediately be downloaded by all receivers. In a typical release there will be a stream specifically targeting any new receivers activated, or for those who try to upgrade earlier if they are not in the ranges that are currently being targeted. This is how some users are able to get this early with the tools option to upgrade software. There are times where we will have a release that is only updated by this stream, and it will not be broadcast to the entire population automatically.

As for the numbers not being the same on each model, there are multitudes of reasons why this may be the case. We do try to keep them close to the same, but it’s not always possible.

If you see any new issues, please comment or send me a message to let me know.
