Has anyone noticed that since the most recent update of DA app for Firetv there is frequent buffering especially when trying to FF in DVR content?

My up and down internet speeds are fine and no issues with Netflix, Prime, etc. Also, no issues with DA on iPad.

I have rebooted router, cleared DA cache on Firestick, rebooted Firestick. Still have so much buffering as to make it almost unwatchable.

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling DA app?

I have the same experience. I only use the dish anywhere app on my downstairs tv to watch dish. I just opened my firestick and the new app had been installed. Wow what junk. I tried watching a DVR recording of a NASCAR race and could not get through it. Trying to fast forward through any of the content resulted in frequent buffering and evens some reconnecting messages. This app does not work at all. Can I get the old version of the app back?

If you're familiar with how to sideload apps (.apk files) you can get older versions HERE.

If you're not familiar with how to sideload apps (.apk files) you can learn about it HERE.

After you do this you will have to turn off app auto updates on your firestick or it will keep updating the app.

thanks. Looks like I’ve got a lot of reading to do. Shouldn’t have to go this route but since DISH obviously isn’t in any hurry to fix this problem I appreciate you posting an alternative.

No problem, once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy.
Quick question please and then I will hopefully not bug you anymore. I’ve managed to get the Downloader installed but when I look at variants ea version seems to have two. How do I know which one to download? Thanks again.

If you click on where it says 2 variants it will show each one. You want the one that says APK

LOL. Neither one says APK. The only difference is one says no dpi and the other one says 160-640dpi. I’m looking at 22.3.10 in particular.

This may appear to be easy for a tech wizard, which there are many of on this forum but, for the technically challenged, not nearly as easy as it should be.

After using the Downloader browser to come here and click on your links I was finally able to download 22.2.40. Had to disable the Javascript because the links would not work otherwise. Then I realized I had to delete the DISH app that was currently installed befor installing the new version because I kept getting the message “App not installed
The package appears to be corrupt “. Well, I’ve finally got it installed and all I get is the DISH Anywhere logo screen. After entering my dish creds that’s where I’ve ended up. DA will not load completely at all now.

I finally deleted the app and redownloaded the most current version of 22.3.50 and have the same crappy pic I had before but at least it’s working again, badly, but working. Thanks for all the help. Some other day when I’m not interested in watching college football I will try again.

I have an older FireStick (not 4K). I just fired it up and after a couple of reboots it seems to display a good watchable pucture on the small LED TV in my bedroom. ESPN was not fuzzy at all. This is totally within my house from the H3 to the FireStick with authentication on Dish. Software Fire OS 5.2.8.9 (678752620). Fire TV Home Version 6350077.1.

I also tried it on my Chrome browser and it looked to be 1080i or p.

My internet is 10Mbps up and 100Mbps down tied to my Netgear Router R6400.

Went back and revisited this again after getting a good nights sleep.Tried it again and still had problems.

Deleted the current DA App. Downloaded and installed the APK version of 22.2.60 Opened up the DA App and it asked me to either pair with the H3 or login with my credentials. Decided to login since I am currently away and it does absolutely nothing. The DA App logo just stays on the screen doing nothing. Gave it about five minutes and deleted the app again and downloaded the current useless version. Very frustrating. I must be doing something wrong but the only work around I have is re-installing the current version which is terrible. Would call DISH bust that would be an exercise in futility that I just don’t want to deal with until I’m home in front of my H3 again.

Why not use your firestick in a HDMI port and not go through the H3? I'm not sure of the benefit of your method.
