it was easy to buy boxes and put them on an outdoors acct!!! but it was never easy to buy boxes and put them under a 2 year with all of the promo's wheels and deals!!! i think it takes someone with more authority than the regular sales people!!! i dunno it puzzles me as well!!

I have to disagree. I replaced a leased Wally with a purchased one this Summer with zero problems and all the promos etc are fully available to me. In fact just last week I added the Heartland pack for the promo price of $3 a month for 6 months.

since when do the discount the h3??? I own 1 of the 2 h3 I have and refuse to give discounts anything but $15 per h3 for that, they will only give $5 per joey if I one owns them and I just got off the phone with them to do 2 y

Since when do they discount the hopper??? i dunno!!! maybe it's there way of trying to keep us. i really would love to see there screens when they set the acct up!!! we got more than one qoute from different reps all were different just tells me no one knows what the others doing!!!

what you said is where it gets interesting!!! they didn't want to give us the wheels and deals with a two year. with purchased boxes right off the bat they wanted us to lease them then we could buy em after the two year was over!!! one should not have to lease boxes to get the wheels and deals!!!

Sorry, none of that makes any sense. A: you don't have to lease the boxes to get the promos, we have established that. B: it's beginning to sound to me like you were trying to negotiate a purchase direct from Dish? Trying to buy direct from Dish doesn't seem to me to be the best approach. I bought the Wally off of Amazon. Seems maybe you went about it from the wrong end, buy the box first, then call Dish.

My ISP will let me go from 1 gig to 2 gig service for $5 more a month and I haven't jumped on it. Haven't found anything to max out the gig yet. While my Network is a 2.5 gig network, the only machines with 2 gig ethernet adapters are the NAS units so I can move files quickly. Everything else is gig or wifi. My wifi isnt too bad on most devices where I see over 700 meg down and up at most places in my house.

it's not that you don't make any sense it's the sales reps that don't make any sense or are trying to do a money grab or not informed!!! we bought our boxes of of solid signal first then called dish to activate them. they wanted to activate them right then and there with no dish . one rep would try to force us to do a pay as you go acct i was like f that i want the promo's. and this dude's in AZ but most are clueless. the rep told us that we had to lease during the 2 years. i call bs as long as i agree to the terms there should be no issues!!!

i think an outdoors acct is different than a residential acct. i don't see how as long as i agree to the terms of the contract!!!

So I always would walk the entire property with the homeowner (some refused), see where all the TVs were (that was never a problem), all the while checking with my compass potential places to mount the dish and plan out the install in my head. I'd be checking for existing coax, existing dishes, etc. I would certainly find evidence of an existing install and ask about it along the walk around. Never had anyone pull all the coax, curious what your response would be?

i was furious with DTV at that point and got sick of the clown shows . both guys walked around and did the site survey also the only way i can get signal is when it's on the roof trees trees!!! we both agreed the roof was the best place to mount it since it's 80 FT up in the air and the trees would not block it... i also requested they did a pole mount so they wouldn't destroy my house since it went up for sale both guys did that kudos for that...

You didn't answer my question, but since you ripped all the coax out I would have refused to install due to lack of sight due to trees. You can figure out how you're going to get TV back with all the coax you ripped out

Um i was pissed with direct!!! i have direct access to my roof there's a infinity pool up there along with a bbq area dish installed us no issues

An "Outdoor" account is very much different than a residential account, in that you can start and stop the service at will on a 30 day basis. Don't need Dish for the next month or so? Just don't pay the bill for the upcoming 30 day period. No hassles, no overdue notices, the service just stops at the end of the paid period. Want to restart the service? Just log in to MyDish and pay the amount shown for the next month starting immediately. Worst case, you may need to give your receiver(s) a "wake up" hit, also easily done online. Want to move to a new location with different locals? Easily done with a few taps in the Dish phone app as long as you're within the spot beam footprint. The app uses your phone's GPS to determine where you are. It's also possible to easily "move" where you aren't, but that's a different post.

plus there's no discounts on programming... but they don't know what one could be using it for either.. dish does offer a pay as you go program as well but there's a 150.00 activation fee vs there's no activation fee on an outdoors acct
