since i couldn't get a straight answer out of the seat warmer :mad: :coco. do we have to stay put for a certain amount of time before we can get a free move?? or can we move at anytime

doesn't say how much. i guess i'll have to call in and find out. no issues i'll pay it. i am thinking the 199.99.. then i'm gonna add a few more joeys to my acct. i know that will be more than likely an extra charge...

called in this morning and got it all sorted out get installed monday ;).
3 hopper 3's
1 4K joey
3 wireless joeys
11 joey 4's

2 hopper 3's no issues
the 3rd hopper 3 is under special circumstances

the 4k joey was the first purchase. maybe i should scrap it and just get a joey 4 🤔. that what it sounds like i should do!!! i have alot of get togethers with friends and family;). the wireless joeys will be used in the outdoor kitchen and wet bar;). lets just say i bought a house triple the size at a third of the cost:);)

Is the new house the one that is 8 stories tall, you mentioned 80', and has a pool on the roof with a barbeque or was that the old one?

the one i'm in now is 8 stories tall and yes it has a pool and bbq area on the roof. the new house the dish can go on the side of it since there's no tree's. the one i am in now is made of concrete completely safe to walk on the roof. i even helped the installer out with running the cables to where they needed to be and gave him a tip..

OOpppss the new house is a two story with just a walk around deck but it's 14 thousand SQ FT the pool is on the ground on the new one along with the outdoor kitchen

Would you mind sharing some pictures of the install when the tech installs all the switch and node equipment in the house?
Also what dish antenna and lnb he ends up using?
Although my setup is not going to be as crazy as yours. I'm looking to start off with 3 Hopper 3's. Have it wired for 4 Hopper 3's total in the future and then two Joey 4's.
So if you wouldn't mind sharing your wiring and stuff it would help with my install and I would really appreciate it.

Why did you end up going with a 4k Joey? What is the benefit over a Joey 4?

not at all!!! but why do you need 3 hopper 3's :what!!! you do realize that two hopper 3's is no issue and that you'll have to have dish give you permission for a third hopper 3. first one can be leased and the second two need to be purchased!!! you just can't have a third hopper 3. i like the looks of the 4k joey!!! i also though it did HDR as well but i guess not since the processor can't handle HDR. i'll more than likely replace it with a joey 4 in time.. just be prepared to explain to dish when you call in as to why you need a third hopper 3 they may grant it they may not!!! and they cannot be paired together so they can see each other like a big media server!!! and your dish bill will explode also :biggrin :eek:

Thanks, It will really help me out. As no one else would respond to my forum thread on this I post a couple days ago.

I've been with dish for over 30 years and currently have 5 Hoppers with sling, all with OTA tuners also, 4 are currently working, a Super Joey and then two vip 211k receivers with outdoor equipment for tailgating. I had to get special permission for this setup many years ago. I'm looking to upgrade to the newer Hopper 3 receivers and the Super Joey to a Joey 4. I have a family of 5 and we watch and record alot of Tv. We each wanted our own DVR. I already ran this by my contact at dish.
Currently all my Hopper 2's with Sling are on the same network and can see each other you just have to select each one from the dvr menu to see the recordings of each. They are not one big dvr. Are you saying you can't do this same thing with multiple Hopper 3's? What would be the difference?

The max limit is 2 hopper 3 with no special permission the 3rd hopper 3 will require special permission from dish. The max Joeys is 15 5 per hopper 3
