ESPN is to the point where it's making providers look bad in what they have to charge for basic packages. Last I knew it was like $4/month/sub just for that channel (+ maybe ESPN2, ESPNews, etc.) and then only if distributed to the bulk of subs. So you have the non-sports-consuming public (a majority) subsidizing the sports-addicted. It cries out for being booted from basic and offered only in a sports pack or alacarte. Then the public could see the true cost.i think ESPN and the locals demand the most!!! while new contracts can be negotiated at a reasonable rates before a blackout.. the station use blackouts to demand more money out of broadcasters and us!!!
