Hopper Plus info

Couple of questions on the Plus box you add on to the Hopper. First does it add storage capacity to your DVR? Is there a place to find more info on what it does it how to work it once you get one? Did some searching and even on YouTube I could only find one video. Thanks

Honestly, I recommend you get a Firestick or Roku instead. Or maybe, if it mean$ that much to you, AppleTV.

Better, faster, can keep if you ever leave Dish.

I'm going to offer a counter viewpoint and suggest that you get the Hopper+. Having everything in one interface (apps) is pretty damn cool. Dish has the kinks ironed out (finally) with the hardware.

Get good info from the Dish installer. Get more help from SatGuys when you need it.

if you have a smart tv you don't need to hopper+!!! the hopper+ is nothing more than an android streaming box. and it destroys the multi view on the hopper!!! buy a firestick roku apple tv

The hopper+ does not add dvr storage space. If you want more storage space you'll need to buy an external HDD

The Hopper + only adds Google TV and mixes it to work together with the Hopper Joey ecosystem. It does not add DVR recording space.

If you are getting full, you may want to consider plugging in an external hard drive and moving some of your older stuff to the drive which will open space for you on the hopper itself. Unfortunately you can not record directly to the external hard drive.

And I was looking one day on the dish site I saw something that said it added storage space and it was not just an external hard drive. Do they have a new receiver out to replace the hopper 3?

No, no new receiver. As for HDD, use a powered USB hub to add up to 8GBs of storage in mutliple drives, but that hub needs to have external power

I have a few EHDs, including RAID EHDs. I'd sell and ship you one for cheap. Little more than shipping.
