Here is the info from DISH that is minutes old.
Thursday 3/22

ViP622 L401 100K Partial 12AM

LNB Details/Compensation, HD Mapdown, DishComm Support, Side by side PIP
This is from a reliable source. Take it for what it's worth.
DishComm Support=yeah!

Not really questioning you. It's just that after what's happened in the past, we'll believe it when it's up there in the satellites and actually spooling. Mr. Smith can detect when the software is actually up there in the satellites and spooling.

I'll believe it when I see it (on my own receiver). I question anything related to "reliable sources" from Dish anymore.... Sorry....

Well I just got the same Tech Update that Tech Trainer did.

(Its a weekly DNS email sent out) and yes once again it IS scheduled.

If it makes it or not is anyone guess. :D

Thanks Scott. From an installation point of view, I hope the DISHComm update is included, and works. Great time saver for techs. Good for DISH too, since all receivers with the software will be recognized as "on a phone line".
Since I work for an RSP, the info I receive is "reliable", it's just whether DISH makes good on it. I was disappointed last week also. I usually receive things very early from DISH. I will try to let everyone know ahead of time.

I cant promise my report will be posted same minute when the version begin spooling, but I can guarantee accurate time of appearance of it (+/- 5 min ;)) and
which receivers will be selected.

DishComm is like having a wireless phone jack built-in to the receiver. You need only hook up one phone line in the house to any receiver and all receivers will have dial tone through the AC lines.

damn, i really hope they enable the ethernet port soon... my voip is kinda iffy... Not that I ever even order anything with the remote

I am curious, will that mean the Caller ID will still work on all receivers when using Dish Comm?

From the Demo I saw the caller ID would work on all receivers over DishComm. :)

BTW just to show that I am not nuts here is a list of all the software updates which are scheduled for this week.

Will this update address the 5.1 over HDMI issue? I don't see it in the posts (though I don't really know what I'm looking at!)

What abut 5.1 over the HDMI?? I thought that was going to be part of the software update? I hope so. It is really kinda odd to have to use the HDMI cable and the Optical cable.

-edit-. ctjr post was not there 2 seconds ago :)

It is my understanding that the 5.1 update is included in L4.01. Also ,there are other receivers (not ViP) that will eventually get the DishComm update.
