MLB Extra Innings - Update
The prospect of DISH Network reaching an agreement with Major League Baseball regarding the Extra Innings package no longer exists. Unfortunately, DISH Network will not be carrying the Extra Innings package for the 2007 baseball season

and 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 or 2013.

I doubt they will lose any more subs over the issue as those who would have wanted it are gone by now.

As a D* sub, it is great that they added SD and PHI feeds to EI, but the HD schedule still leaves alot to be desired. It makes no sense that there are games available in HD, yet the HD channels remain silent the majority of the time. It doesn't appear to be a bandwidth issue. They should be able to keep two channels active throughout the day. Tonights' Giants/Dodgers game is on PrimeTicket HD. There will be no game on at 7 Pacific. Where's the problem?

Additionally, the SuperFan fee is rude (to put it nicely).

Yeah stinks for folks that want to pay extra to see more baseball. But overall I don't think it is that big of a loss. There is plenty of other channels to see MLB on besides extra innings. I have never been a fan of pay a big one time fee just to have access to more games when you can only watch so many. Plus some of those games could be broadcast on channels that you might already get. Overall maybe Dish can work something out next season for the folks that would like to see the extra games and willing to pay for it.

First time post. Love this site. Hope all is well out there! :) I'm a little P.O. about this MLB and E* drama. I feel that dish doesn't care about sports when they should, and the real issue is E* won't get off there wallet. They are the only carrier that doesn't carry MLB EI. If cable could get there hands on the NFL Sunday ticket they would do it in a New York second and I doubt E* would even consider it. I've been with E* since 1995, and I have never seen so many issue's with a TV provider. I would no be surprised if E* gives up on the rest of the sports packages because E* says it's not a fair deal. I know a lot of people don't care about sports, but there are people like me who do. Just seems to me that E* has a lot of baggage that has caught up with them and now we as subscribers are starting to see it and pay for it with these little inconveniences. From the lawsuit with Tivo, court tv, distant networks, MLB E*, the little spat they had with HBO. Gettin a little tired of it. Ok I'm done. Time to get off my soap box :)

Not if all you want to watch is your one hometown team. Then the ability to watch the game is SEVERELY restricted because of the archiac blackout restrictions of all major league sports.

I've gone the mlb.tv route with a pc-to-tv converter and I get to see more games than I saw on Extra Innings. With mlb.tv, they show EVERY game not affected by blackout rules, not just the games that are televised. If it isn't televised, they show the stadium video with the radio play-by-play dubbed in. In addition, mlb.tv is cheaper!

Just curious...what's the PQ like on your TV...and how big of a TV are you watching on?

And there is no reason why MLB EI couldn't do that either, IMO

Is there a way to watch any of the baseball games like on nesn or all the other fox sports?? Its always blacked out... Nubbie to dish network finally left cable!!!

They have a PHI (Philadelphia Philles?) feed?

Be sure to get the "MLB" Premium option

It is in 700 K ( whatever that means), but it is pretty clean, even in full screen. $20.00, per month. Not a bad option...........

Would like to watch it on my tv, as well........

I understand I have to buy a video card. Which one would do you have?, and would you recommend same?

In addition, the same question, as to the pc to tv converter.

Thanking you in advance

I bought no video card, simply bought the pc-to-tv converter for $30. It plugs into my laptop where a monitor would plug in. For power on the converter box, I plug it into a USB port in my laptop. It goes into my TV's S-connection.

I've got a 36-inch TV and the picture is definitely not as clear as it would be if I had Extra Innings. If I had the option of Extra Innings, I'd have gone with it, but without that being possible, this is a decent alternative.

In addition, unlike Extra Innings, I can watch mlb.tv anywhere I have a high-speed connection. You can't take Extra Innings with you!

Guess I'm going to be a DirectTV subscriber when my VIP622 committment ends in early '08.

Dish Network has no MLB: EI. They can't provide in-market Cardinal broadcasts to me, even though DirectTV were able to secure an agreement with Fox Sports Midwest TWO WEEKS AGO to unblock the Cardinal games for DirectTV subscribers.
And I doubt that Dish Network will provide the Big Ten Network when it starts this coming August.

No Sports from Dish anymore, unless you like PPV Rugby or Cricket.

I ran the 700K demo loop into my 60 inch sony and it looked decent. Not great by any stretch but it doesn't look any different than some of the lower tier bitstarved SD channels Dish serves up.

I'm thinking about subscribing.

OK, so mlb.tv has the local phillies feed(s). DirecTV doesn't - correct? Comcast as far as I know doesnt rebroadcast via any DBS service.
