Well on todays retailler chat it was announced that D11 won't be launched until 2008, but D10 will be able to provide 100 NATIONAL HDTV CHANNELS by the end of this year. Now all that will be needed is 100 signed contracts.:)

And the $9.95 price for the HD Channels would ramin $9.95 for the rest of the year. :)

I thought it was interesting to hear them say they did not have contracts for 100 HD channels, the way they are advertising it sounded like 100 HD channels by the end of the year was a sure thing. :)

to repeat.......last week during the webcast, they said d11 would be launched in first half of 2008. but that wouldn't put them too far behind sked, as it was targeting smaller market hd lil and the remainder of the 150 national channels that won't be launched between now and early next year.

Lets cross our fingers and hope.

Scott is this retailer chat stuff something new for D*? Are they trying to make an effort to more forthcoming with information or do they have these chats all the time and this is the first piece of interesting information theyve had in a while?

This is only the second chat I know about, it was short only about 12 minutes long. I just happened to stumble upon it as I was on the phone with a friend who is a retailer who asked me if I wanted to hear it (he put the phone near the TV)

It was short and sweet. :D

You guys talking about the 100 HD channels if you read the threads from avsforum.com, tvpredictions.com, and here of course you would know that D* is not going to launch 100 HD channels by year end. They only have about 75 contracts signed so far and it will be up to the other providers to offer HD before D* can carry it. The MLB and NFL HD games will be included in that number as well. So please read the threads and do your homework before talking.

50-75 national, and 25-50 RSN's, Sunday Ticket and other sports packs (NBA, NCAA, NHL, etc.) still sounds great to me. Heck 25-50 more national would be awesome.

Misleading Thread I thought you all were talking about receiver model numbers at first:D

Thank you for your kind summary. Kinda reminds me of Animal House when the guy comes in and says "you guys playing cards?"

Actually my interest is in the retailer chats. Do people that listen to these chats find them full of information?

I didn't really get much from it, they are not off the cuff like the Dish Network ones are. Just short and too the point.

I am going to try viewing them and reporting on them each month. :)
