Directv Gemini Receiver - C71KWX Question

That would seem to be counter productive for a satellite user if doing a factory reset converted it back to stream. They then could not use it any longer for their satellite service.
If I remember right, it only did that when it had no connection to a Gemini server or a WVB. I haven't felt like resetting my Gemini to duplicate that.

You're right. I'm not sure if they have updated the firmware so that it won't work as a streaming device and yes they are inaccurately calling this a satellite receiver.

The only reason I'm asking these questions is because I want to able to use one remote for all of my devices. I currently have one URC remote which controls my TV, Apple TV and the old Osprey AT&T box. We are moving into a new home and I want to get 2 more of the boxes instead of the Gemini Air because I won't be able to control the Air with my URC remote.

The question I also have is am I going be sacrificing picture quality for the convenience of being able to use one remote on the Osprey box instead of going with the Gemini Air. Do you know? Thanks!
I own several of each of the Gemini and Air.
I can't say that I notice any difference in PQ or any other function between the two.

Do people still watch satellite TV these days
