That would seem to be counter productive for a satellite user if doing a factory reset converted it back to stream. They then could not use it any longer for their satellite service.
If I remember right, it only did that when it had no connection to a Gemini server or a WVB. I haven't felt like resetting my Gemini to duplicate that.

You're right. I'm not sure if they have updated the firmware so that it won't work as a streaming device and yes they are inaccurately calling this a satellite receiver.

The only reason I'm asking these questions is because I want to able to use one remote for all of my devices. I currently have one URC remote which controls my TV, Apple TV and the old Osprey AT&T box. We are moving into a new home and I want to get 2 more of the boxes instead of the Gemini Air because I won't be able to control the Air with my URC remote.

The question I also have is am I going be sacrificing picture quality for the convenience of being able to use one remote on the Osprey box instead of going with the Gemini Air. Do you know? Thanks!
I own several of each of the Gemini and Air.
I can't say that I notice any difference in PQ or any other function between the two.

Solid Signal is way way over priced. ( know they sponsor a lot here and there are real good, its just the dongle is costly for them too).

Walmart has them on sale for $40 right now Reg $45. It is the older Directv Stream Device not the little dongle one way over charged at other places.
the old square box ones at Walmart is what they used to sell or rent at directv they are all used but it could save you $200
I tested both and they are just as fast
The older one might even be faster if you hardwire the ethernet if your wifi is bad
WARNING: to get the free HULU and DISNEY you must LEASE at lease one of the new boxes at $10 per month.

HEADS UP on USED: if you do get a used one you must first PAIR the remote, (rewind and fast forward at same time). THEN get to logon screen. Then FORCE reset the box HOLD down red button on side for 20 mins to force an update and reset, if that does work repeat reset.

I'm a 30 year DIRECTV Sat Customer- I'm having my roof replaced -so my Dish will be going away --I would like to go to DIRECTV Stream.
I have a Gemini on one TV - my question is Currently all my APPS are currently Config using my DIRECTV login as my Provider. It's my understanding I have to use a New email address for Streaming-SO how do I Reconfigure my Current APPS to a new email address? Or Do I need to get (2) Gemini Air and just use those apps instead of my Smart Tv Apps?

Also I'm going to keep the same Package I have now Premium so if I cancel DIRECTV before I add stream then can I use the Same Email Address?

If I understand your question correctly. You will need to do a factory reset on your Gemini to change it from Sat to Stream.
Doing such will sign you out of all of your apps. It my actually remove some of them that you have added.
You would re-log in with your Stream account, and you can log in to your apps with whatever email you originally used to subscribe to them.

I hope that makes sense.

Yes, for the Gemini I hope that is possible - Thanks
