Rock Ridge!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know Dick is finally putting out on the external storage issue for a small $40 fee after 2 long years. I have seen something on the ethernet port being activated on the 15th too but can't find it.

Will the ethernet port become active on that date and what will it entail if it does??

The DishONLINE portion (Video on Demand) release has slipped just a little bit, we could see itby the end of the month, however I wouldn't be surprised to see it delayed until Septembr.

Thanks for the response Scott .:D I am not worried about VOD. Actually I couldn't care less about Dish's handjob on VOD.

You know anything about the negating of the no phone line fee?

But first and foremost, I want an http interface. That is what I want. I wanna http to my 622 when travelling. Actually want to do it when home as well.

I asked the idiots at Dish yesterday about the enternet port, and you know what they said to me? NOTHING. The tech reps don't know crap about the enternet port's future.

I'm starting to think that you rock a little too hard and it's affecting something..... What part do you not understand ?? The Dish reps probably a) haven't rec'd training on an option that's not yet available or b) do know about it but aren't supposed to comment (deny it).

Do we need you spewing this in multiple threads ??

lol there ya go hall.

I wished the ethernet port worked like Tivo. I have wireless internet setup through out my house. I have all of the following setup without wires: Pocket PC, Windows Mobile Phone, several VoIP telephones, two computers, wi-fi enabled printers, and ITVN internet TV box that gets over 150 various adult channels for just $29.95 a month. It would be nice to also setup Dish's boxes with game adapters so I would not need to run phone wires to them.

To comment about earlier responses, it was a typo. One would think, a company's future elements would be trained before hand so the reps would be able to help the customer when they called.

When I worked at MBNA America's call center, we were trained weeks before hand of a new product that was about to be released. That gave time for the slow people to become acquainted with it, so they would be able to help the customer the best we could. But MBNA America is no longer here. I am very sorry for assuming the same service from Dish.

The only reason why I'm interested in DishOnline is if it facilitates remote scheduling or has free (or free value added for premiums) programming. I pay for Starz and HBO to avoid VoD and PPV. :)

Can I just plug a 50 foot long ehternet cable into the back OF THE 622 OR 722 and plug the other end into my Linksys wireles/wired router and will it work. If not, how is the cheapest way to hook it up. I have a USB adapter, but cannot connect it to an ethernet port on the back of thge 622.

I only have one rj45 to the entertainment center and it is hooked to the XBox. Guess I'll have to stick a router in back.

My power is maxed out back there. Actually has been for a while. Adding a router AND a hard drive is going to be too much. Time to run a dedicated circuit.

LOL that is totally untrue, I guess you didn't read my post before. I'm getting to think, that name can be used in terms to other people here. hmmmmm
