Saw it with DirecTV Genie and minis on certain tvs. Was told by by DTV ISS it's usually a handshake problem between the box and the tv. The easiest solution. is component video connection, but unfortunately the Orby DVR does not have component video out.

As others have mentioned the Direct TV world direct dish and LNBF do work, currently using it in my setup. Was a DTV tech, so had extras in my garage. Only problem I think the dish tilt is not enough to get optimum signal in my lication.

No, I dont think so, Its a pretty basic DVR. But for $44 I got used to it. I have had it for a few months now and happy with the service. I use it on a 50 inch and picture quality on every channel I watch is quite acceptable for me.
