Dish 612 DVR goes out every night

They only pay an extra 6 bucks a month for TV2, which I convincingly talk the customer into. Now the rest of their house is wired with a tv2 mirror, and I don't have to keep going back to swap out their 612s until I find a good one. It's been a couple weeks now since I've had a bad one right...

    Loss of channels and HD

Dish doesn't get all of the substations you're talking about. You need to fix your antenna if you want them.

222k HD receiver and 2 LNBs

Why do people even try installing their own dishes anyway? Dish offers free installs, and always upgrades people for free as long as they renew their contract. It's not like putting toast in the toaster, our sh*t gets pretty complicated.

Dish 612 DVR goes out every night

It's not a cabling issue. The 612 receiver is just a mistake that dish keeps sweeping under the rug. I work for an RSP for dish and everytime I install a 612 I have problems. It's just a horribly made piece of equipment. Whenever I have install with that box on it, I change it over to a 722k.

    VIP 211 remote?

Well you will HAVE to get a UHF kit because the 211 doesn't do it by itself. Like N0qcu said, it's IR only. But I wouldn't even do that.... I would do what most people do and get a dual receiver. Have you're main HDTV by the box, and split the rest of your house off of TV2 with a UHF...

    TV2 Diplexer Help

Yeah it's very easy, don't spend the $99. As long as you set up the receiver the same way, you just need to look for the second diplexer somewhere in the line. If your lines are ran through the basement look there. It's most likely near the ground block, if your system is grounded properly...

Any kind of cable splitter will work, it doesn't matter.

    Strange Question: Swapping Remotes 612 & 722

You don't need to order anything. The UHF setting for the 6.3 is the 3rd slot over to the right. Then just slice off most of the fat section of that chip and it will stay UHF when you slide it back in.

    Strange Question: Swapping Remotes 612 & 722

The only thing that chip does it allow the remote to stay in UHF mode when you slide it back in. You can take a pair of side cutters and chip off the inner side of the fat edge to allow you to slide it back in with no change. To change TV1 to UHF, you need to go into your menu, press 6 - 1 -...

    Strange Question: Swapping Remotes 612 & 722

It's easy. Bring your IR remote to the 612. Press the sys info button on the front of the box. When you see your system info screen, press the record key on the remote to program it to the box. For the 6.3 IR/UHF remote, you can either pull out the tab and flip over that switch to convert...

    Help needed

Take off your LNB and throw your cable on the other port. Before you do, make sure your 311 his plugged into the wall and connected to the cable. Stick your tongue on the end of the cable fitting and you should feel a small shock. If the line isn't hot, your problem is not up there, but...

    Eastern Arc question

The TV2 output actually can be set to run both TV1 and TV2 at the same time, just go to your modulator screen (menu 6-1-5). Just throw on a splitter before you send it off to TV2.
