    The only reason I would use a PS3 for Blu-Ray discs is because the cheapest stand-alone player is twice the price of the PS3. Other than that, I have NEVER once used my (regular) XBox as a DVD player (not when DVD players are so cheap)... but as long as the PS3 is cheaper than a stand-alone...
