Thanks for your and Zach's replies. Based on your info and another reassurance elsewhere, I decided to risk the update and can verify that no significant changes were made to my DP311. My program guide and favorites remain the same. But I'm still curious... Exactly how do you define "VIP/HD"...

Based partly on your reassurance, I decided to take the risk and allowed the update to proceed for my DP311. It took about 8 minutes and I can verify there was no significant change. My programming guide, favorites, and other options I've checked are still the same as before. :) Old software#...
