    If you are using the SL5 LNB (with 4 outputs) you will have to run 4 lines to a groundblock, or multiswitch, then into each receiver (2 lines per DVR), and on this type installation no splitters will work. If it is a SL5S (SWM LNB) then only one line is required to either a 4 way or 8 way...

    Keep in mind that all of DTV dishes meet the OTARD rule of below 1 meter in diameter, as long as the LNB support arm does not extend beyond the railings the OP should be within OTARD standards.

    450 feet is much too far, at that distance your voltage drop is enough to keep your lnb from switching from even to odd transponders.
