    Considering switching from Directv

Just about right. I have two X1's and a cable/phone/WiFi modem and the bill is usually $198. Not thrilled with the X1 but really isn't any worse than the current Hopper IMHO. It's one saving grace is the voice control is quite good.

    Considering switching from Directv

No, I had Dish for many years prior to returning to them after a year or so with Xfinity. I had T120 package, one Hopper and one Joey and always stable bill at about $50 per month. I didn't have any premiums, but once in a while I would call and they would give me free HBO for 3 months, or once...

    Considering switching from Directv

One problem is there are no viable alternatives to high-speed Internet in my area. I am stuck with Comcast so I have had them for many years for other services besides TV. I also use them at 8 other locations at work for Internet and some TV. Don't get me wrong, I HATE Comcast as much as any...

    Considering switching from Directv

Ok I just checked. Xfinity Premier Tripple Play is still $149 with a 2 year agreement, and $159 with no commitment. Also, one thing about Comcast, you don't get any early termination fees unless you quit ALL services. I didn't know that before. Dish stuck me with a $400 charge for a going away...

    Considering switching from Directv

Well, Dish Quoted $65 per month inclusive of taxes and fees. My lowest bill was $75+ the highest was over $100 because of an unexplained "one time charge" of $15. It went to $85 after 3 months and that was after removing HBO that they said would be free for 12 months. The sad thing was I had...

    Considering switching from Directv

The Hopper used to be fast and intuitive. Now it's clunky and slow. Not sure what all changed in the year or so I went with another provider, but I hated it. Also, Dish will offer you a "deal" but in reality, as soon as they get your credit card number, they will charge whatever they want...

    Just another DISH rant

Had DISH T120 for years . The Hopper was fast and intuitive, and to be honest I was quite impressed. I had a Joey in the Master and couldn't be happier with my $55 package. Well, after a while, the price just kept creeping up... Pretty soon I was paying over $75 per month for the T120 and no...
