    Genie (MRV Issue) Tech Visit

    We had a tech come out last Saturday for the same reason as yours. I think I need a new reboot button! The tech, within 20 secs saw it was a software issue. Also we had a bad dish. Ours was out of kilter or warped. He couldn't get it aligned so he installed a new one. Jeff

    So the tech came out and within 20 secs. noticed that the software was incorrect. He says that this was causing most of the problems.     Genie problems

    Tech guy is coming on Wed. to test the receiver. We soft booted, hard booted and came up short of just booting the receiver out the door! :) We hooked up the 24 receiver (unplugged the Genie cable and all) and none of the issues that the Genie is having happened on the 24. Jeff

    I just did a hard reboot. We still have the 24 hooked up (to another input) and we are doing a test with that to see if it duplicates the Genie. So far it has not.     AMC used to be commercial free way back when. Had them on C-Band. As for HD on TV vs Blu Ray?? Not even in the same galaxy. PQ on Blu Ray will blow away any HD on TV. Depending of course on the transfer of the film to Blu Ray! Jeff

    New Direct Install

    Make sure your installer sets up your remote for RF and not IR if you want it that way. Wasted a lot of time on the phone with "john and suzie in India" who told me I had to pay to get an RF remote and me not knowing I had one the whole time argued with them...way to long on the phone. Jeff

    Reelz compression

    The Reelz channel should be renamed "The Slasher Channel"! I attempted to watch a movie (can't remember which one now) and they slashed so much from the movie and had so many commercials that I don't even bother with this channel anymore. And the pic quality is horrible! Jeff

    There should be no difference in picture quality via HDMI or component, nor color issues either. Try the Smithsonian Channel to test the picture. Jeff

    TCM wouldn't be HD. sort of, nor AMC. But the widescreen verions of movies would be so much better to watch! Jeff
