    Set DVR to record New Episodes, but still records old epsisodes sometimes.

    It's looking for the Air Date and the Episode number, if either is missing or in questionable it records the TV Show. Better to be save than sorry.

    Software could be so old it's not target, Do you have an DN241 card? without it your out of luck.

    Make sure you get a single Hard Drive, some units sold have two 500 gig hard drives to get to 1 TB these units are not supported.

    If you mean the TurboHD dish is the old Super Dish, which is bigger than current dish you would need extra support and brackets. Check out SatelliteGuys store, they may have what you need.

    R59 to R6

    Sad part is the builder really did not save any money. You should be able to connect the RG6 cable to the RG59 cable and pull. should be able to pull the cable all the way to where it goes outside. Then you may have problem getting there.

    510 and 311 receivers not receiving new programming signals from Dish

    Just turn off your units and leave them off, don't mess with them for about 24hours. No need to call Dish and ask for an authorizing hit because once your request it good for 24 hours. What software is in the box? If it's really old it will never take the download.

    Do you have the new DN241 Smart Cards, Are they active on a account? If not active I don't think Dish will active them, nor would they sell you smart cards for them.

    Compression Connector Removal

    I would cut the cable and add a barrel connector with a longer cable. you will only lose a few db's of signal. I have never had any luck getting them apart once they are connected.

    Cost of hooking up external hard drive?

    You can't the 625 has USB 1.0 which is not supported and if it was it would take forever to transfer anything. The cost is the same for everyone 39.95 one time charge. The fee is for the account and not the receivers.
