What receiver are you using it on? The HR20-100 has had issues. I use it on the 700 and find the response great.

The Tivo will NOT pick up the new HD channels. The HR-20 which is D*s flagship receiver is a solid DVR. A lot of threads and arguments as to which is better. My only comment is that they are different with each having good qualities.

I am not sure a box has ever "bricked" because of a CE. Do understand though with a CE the idea is to find bugs so when the national release comes out it is clean.

Depends on clouds (moisture) too. My satellite will go down because where it is pointing are heavy clouds with a lot of moisture but in a small storm the heavy clouds may have passed your sight line and you are fine even if it is raining. Not a tech explanation but I am in Florida and it happens...
