I have a VIP 722 and a VIP 622 dish network receivers. I own both of them and I will probably have to cancel my dish service within the next couple of months. I was wondering if someone could tell me if these receivers could be used as an OTA dvr once dish service has been canceled?

For some reason I am no longer getting sd channels on tuner number one on my VIP 622. I can get them on tuner number 2 and I have a VIP 722 and both tuners work correctly. I guess I should mention that the programming guide is on All channels or all sub and all of the sd channels are missing...

Does anyone know if along with the two satellite tuners if the local channels received ota would also be distributed via the distribution port on the back of the receiver?

After two phone calls to tech support I finally used the online tech chat and got dish to send me a new 622. My hdmi works great now. there is definitely a hardware problem.

I agree that it is not fair to have everyone pay for a regional channel, but why not have it available for those that want it. You can pick up any individual international channel, so why can't we pay for the mtn individually?

I spoke with dish today and they stated that there would be a new software update the first week of October that would resolve the HDMI issue. I guess I'll wait and see if it actually works.

I was curious if the SD 121 and the Dish 1000 were identical except for the lnb's and the metal bracket that points them and attaches them to the dish. I am considering swapping out the SD 121 lnb's with a Dish 1000 Lnb's. I currently have a SD 121 and a dish 500 pointed at 129. I don't care...

If you want globo, you will need a SuperDish 121 instead of the dish 1000. It is my understanding that since 121w is an fss sat you need the larger dish to receive it. I have a superdish 121 as well as a small dish pointed at 129 and have no problems.
