It still looks pretty big...and only 15% lighter means, what 3-4 pounds off...more like an "LittleLessEnormous" dish.... Was hoping for more reductioin in size and weight.... What is the actual dish, 20% less in surface area??

Oh, and while I dont watch, Young & The Restless is great HD....almost reference quailty....shame all cant be that way...

Seems pretty good in Chicago....dont see much stuttering on CBS or NBC... The best HD I have seen on D* has been on CSI (Vegas one) and Jay Leno....both in 1080i...so if they can get better, GREAT!! I still think they are not as good as OTA, but from what I can tell, better than MPEG2...

^^^^As others have stated D* made the right choice...most consumers who arent tied to the Sunday Ticket would flock to whomever provided HD locals....people outside of this niche have no desire to start throwing up antennas. As much as it sucks not to get NFL HD, HGTV HD, Food HD, Nat...

Just got my D* HD hooked up and must say I now think I understand HD Lite. Have the 55" SXRD and from 11ft HD from D* just does not blow me away...its pretty great, but less than I had hoped. My biggest gripe is the noise in the background (kind of like a constant motion in the background...

Thanks guys. Always fun to get the varying opinions. When I get the MPEG 4 DVR (hopoefully within a month) I will have that installer take a look at everything. grydlock - you think me adding two more lag screws will provided more security?

I repeatedly asked the installer if supports were needed....he said he had installed many before in the Chicago area like this...said supports/monopoles only really necessary when on a "exposed" roof that will take a beating from all sides in a heavy wind. He didnt seemed to worried given it...

I was a little curious as to what the installer would recommend for an install spot on our townhome. We had an old 3lnb on a solid wood beam that ran by the window. Though they would throw it on the dining room roof bumpout, but the installer (who really seemed to know his stuff), put it up...

Jesus....you got to be kidding me on all these installs!!!! I thimk most people would be saying F it and going with cable....D* needs to hurry with that slim dish, as I for one, would not be going through all that trouble to mount a dish "for them", so I can "pay them" for their service...

I guess "nobody up there loves you"...that slogan lasted all of about 5 months...

I am finishing my basement (yes, I have one - most people in Chicago burbs have them)....and am wondering how many coax wires come in from the dish on the new AT9 (or the upcoming slim one) I am assuming 5??....Am nearing the drywall phase and what to make sure I have it "prewired properly"...
