Directv National Downgrade Day Feb. 28, 2005

You know, I live very close to Lordstown, Ohio, which is where the GM plant is. One of the best kept secrets in this country, is how much does it really cost to build a car? Even the big Hummers and such can't cost GM more than 10,000-15,000, yet they sell these things for the cost of my house...

When they convert to mpeg4, they will offer you an upgrade-they will not leave people who spent $1k on equipment without anything.

If I move from Dish - Can I use same cable?

If it's RG6 I don't see why not. But even if you couldn't, all you would have to do is take it out, and have the installer run it the same route. The free install will include any multiswitch you need.

How can he say it's a rip-off? The R10 is the best $49 I ever spent.I paid full price for my first ( phillips DSR704) and I think that was worth it too.

Have to vent about Bluegrass Sat Service..

Came across this post, and I must say, with my experience with Bluegrass, they are the worst installers. I keep hoping D* finds somebody else to use in this area (Ohio/Kentucky), but they haven't yet. Of all the guys I've dealt with, only 1 knew what he was doing, and that was my last install of...

Dish 921 to Directv HD-DVR is it worth it?

I totally agree. Could you imagine what the repercussions would be to try and make people pay for equipment? The lawsuits for breach of contract would bankrupt them( and that's a perfectly legal thing for D* customers to do, after spending $1000 on a box).

    Directv Tivo

They are supporting TiVo, their contract isn't up till 2007. So until then, and most probably after, we can use them. As far as the fee, it is a $4.99 fee per account, up to 8 D/TiVo's. The plus side is, if you had stand alone TiVo's, you would pay $12.95 for the first one, and $6.95 for every...

    Rate Increase for DirecTV

The thing about the D* increase is, if you have recently committed to a year contract, you won't see an increase until your 1 year is up.
