Mine is set right now to 720p resolution + Pillar Box format. Is this correct?

I would be very happy with 1 sec lag. It was that way when I first got DTV over a year ago. Then within the last 4 months, the lag is getting longer and longer. Even when I was strolling down the TV guide, it would just sit there for about 6 sec or even longer, then it would move.
