    C-Band/FTA/ AC-3 Audio

    I decode the AC3 from the satellite receiver with a Sony SDP-E800. This is a stand alone decoder made for a home surround sound set up. I got mine on eBay for under fifty dollars. I run a fiber optic cable from the satellite to the decoder and it sounds great!

    Go to your electrical supply house (not a home improvement store) and get a weather-proof housing to mount the switches in.

    I have never paid for any of my C band antennas...even the 10 and 12 footers! Every time I knocked on the door they told me, "Gee...I was wondering how I was going to get rid of that old thing!" Good luck. :)

    If at all possible, increase the size of the antenna. I would not use anything smaller than one meter for FTA. And since G10R is so low in the sky, check to see if trees are in the signal path. Good luck.

    There is nothing more bueatiful than a yard with 27 Ku and C band satellite antennas in it! :) Although, the wife may not share in the beauty! :mad:

    I got a Sony SDP-E800 on eBay for under 50 dollars. It has the digital fiber inputs so I can use a fiber line from my satellite receiver.

    Thanks to those who responded. I finally found some AC-3 processors that are used on home AV setups for under 50 bucks so it looks like I'm in business! :)

    BTW........I like your "Station 51 10-4, KMG-365" next to your photo. That program inspired my to become a Firefighter/Paramedic back in the 70's! :)
