    FTA Contact in Japan

The satpedition continues. Today I found 88.0E ST-2. This satellite is over south Asia. Its 22 degree elevation requires me to lean the mast forward since it is a few degrees lower than my minimum dish elevation setting. ST-2 carries services for Taiwan. It has two Ku HD transponders ITC with...

    Intelsat 18 180.0E Ku

If nobody provides before, I can record this in a couple of weeks after I return home. My dish is still pointed at 180E.

    99W NBC and PBS muxes

Just from memory on my 41" dish, I'd say you're about 3 to 4 dB low on PBS. Unless NBC has changed recently, it was as strong as PBS or even a little more.

    TV signal range question

I am in Japan and I am actively attempting to receive the Korean Central TV signal on C-band here. The signal originates from 96.5E Express 103. It is reported to be 42 dBW at my location so it should be easily receivable on my 1-metre dish. It seems I have no 5G interference in my particular...

Comments from a newbie to FTA

No. Why would you? If all you want to do is watch TV, then get cable. Glad you're having a thrill exploring.

Chinese Equivalent of Lyngsat for Eastern Hemisphere

Reminds me of the old Steve Martin line..."...those French have a different word for everything! Like they say 'fromage' instead of 'cheese'..." I tried from here for Xintian 9 at 183E and Intelsat 18 at 180E on C-band but no go. The furthest east I could receive on C-band with my 1-metre dish...

    FTA Contact in Japan

Now a 2-dish home. I just received via Amazon Japan today a 45-cm dish with LNB compatible with the Japanese domestic satellite system. Complete assembly just US$48 delivered free to my front door. Installed indoors, it looks through a window and receives SQ81% signals from 110E. Very easy to...

New to FTA, Amiko MINI HD265 firmware and sat DB options?

Scales? I gave up on scales. I calculate what the dish face angle should be, also considering declination value for my latitude, then set the angles using an angle app on my smartphone. This often gets me close enough that a blind scan lets me receive at least a strong transponder which I can...

    Unimesh LNB Black Cover Pins

I use the cheapest reusable cable ties from places like Dollarama or the Dollar stores. A great invention. You can undo them and re-use as you wish. If the UV gets them, so be it.
