GTMedia V8 Finder 2 For SAT ID

If you check Lyngsat, you'll notice that some of the Dish tps were DVB-S SR 20000. Those were non-Turbo and you could have received them with a regular FTA receiver. Since they were encrypted, you couldn't watch them though.

TNAP 6 for Edision: Yes or No?

Guys, thanks for enlightening me. I thought norman881 was joking in Post #9. I've not heard the term 'neutrino' other than the scientific particles. I am using the PLi-FullNightHD skin. I find if I switch ON the 'Enable neutrino style channel select controlling' that my remote control functions...

TNAP 6 for Edision: Yes or No?

GT Media is likely claiming this feature now. For enigma2, perhaps in TNAP 7?

TNAP 6 for Edision: Yes or No?

Unfortunately, when I used the T2MI Module with Small Symbol Rates driver the results were terrible on a blind scan of 117W C. That driver produced only 26 tps. I only ran this test one time. But the No-T2MI Kernel Module produced 55 tps. I ran this again today and I believe I got 57 tps. So I'm...

TNAP 6 for Edision: Yes or No?

Probably. But what's in a name? If it benefits me then I'll use it.

It's worth a slot. It'll keep you off the streets at night.

TNAP 6 for Edision: Yes or No?

Short answer is Yes! I now have image slots on my Edision Mio+ filled with two TNAP 5.1 and one TNAP 6 image. I am slowly migrating over to TNAP 6 but I keep TNAP 5.1 ready to use at any time just requiring a quick reboot of the Mio+. One of the reasons I still use TNAP 5.1 is because I haven't...

GTMedia V8 Finder 2 For SAT ID

I've blind scanned in a very high frequency tp (12676?) sometimes in past on 101W. DirecTV may have a strong spot beam there. Lyngsat says DirecTV uses DSS SR 20000 FEC 6/7 which is different from Dish 8PSK SR 21500 FEC 2/3 (Dish's Turbo tps). Maybe the DirecTV encoding is closer to DVB-S/S2 so...

GTMedia V8 Finder 2 For SAT ID

Therefore, the best plan is for Gregroadwarrior to put his Dish receiver and TV beside the dish and orient the dish while watching the signal on the receiver. This is how I oriented my Shaw dish when using pay satellite TV. The receiver had a good signal meter built into it.

GTMedia V8 Finder 2 For SAT ID

This is an educational moment for me. Wouldn't the finder simply indicate the wrong polarity? Show horizontal instead of left and vertical instead of right like a receiver?

    Edision Edision Mio+ TNAP 5.1 w/Hauppauge 950Q

Maybe you could even get ABC and PBS on clear days without even turning your antenna. They are at 35 dBu/m. I am clearly receiving a station at that level with my antenna on a 3-foot tall tripod for convenience. It makes me wonder if I point the antenna in other directions and perhaps suspend...

    Edision Edision Mio+ TNAP 5.1 w/Hauppauge 950Q

I'm back to playing with the Hauppauge 950Q OTA dongle that connects to the Edision Mio+ USB port. With a 125-foot RG6 run including a 30-dB ChannelMaster preamp and Clearstream 2V antenna mounted 3 feet high, I've just scanned in 15 UHF TV channels including the 9-channel METV mux found on...

    OTHER GTMEDIA V7 or V9?

I find this true most of the time. For example, my Edision Mio+ is a lot pricier than the V9, but I can use the Edision as a streaming box. I have many streams set up so if satellite doesn't have what I want then I can often find interesting stuff from the streams.

    OTHER GTMEDIA V7 or V9?

I assumed the existing apps are embedded in the firmware and it's not possible to add more without changing the firmware. The existing apps don't work so well anyway. I treat this box as a satellite receiver and don't expect anything more from it. Remember what we paid.
