    BEV 9220/Dish 942 off-air antenna issue

Are you absolutely sure? While googling last night, I actually found a thread I started in this forum in September 06 when I first moved to Toronto. I was asking if I could use the PVR functionality with basic cable. Without having a dish hooked up, I was able to pick up analog cable channels...

    BEV 9220/Dish 942 off-air antenna issue

Do I need to actually have a signal, or will just having an LNB hooked up get 'er going? I'm pretty sure I can't get a clear line of site from my patio. Downtown(ish) Toronto, tall buildings everywhere.

    BEV 9220/Dish 942 off-air antenna issue

The tivo lawsuit had no effect in Canada. We JUST got tivo maybe two years ago and they haven't been integrated with any of the service providers, as far as I know. The receiver works fine, but the issue is, I don't have a dish here. I was just hoping to be able to use the PVR functionality with...

    BEV 9220/Dish 942 off-air antenna issue

I hope this is the right forum. I hooked makeshift antenna up to my TV and I'm able to pick up most Toronto stations, and a few Buffalo stations. I have an old BEV 9220 kicking around, but no dish to hook up to it. When I hook my antenna into the off-air tuner, I get "Error 024: Unable to access...

    Wire re-routing. Which to snip?

    Thanks for the advice!

    Wire re-routing. Which to snip?

I'm not surprised it's not normal. Installers in this town seem to be complete dinks. After I moved out of my Mother's apartment, I left a dual LNB dish with an SW44 mounted on my balcony. Another tenant in the building was using out balcony to mount their dish because they lived in the basement...

    Wire re-routing. Which to snip?

I'd still like some input so I have some ideas for tomorrow when I actually try this. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

    Wire re-routing. Which to snip?

That's what I plan on doing, but it's 11 PM, and there's a creek behind my house. It's mosquito central out there so I'm going to wait until tomorrow to try anything. I just want someone to confirm that all of my assumptions are right before I go and screw something up.

    Wire re-routing. Which to snip?

When our system was installed, the installer used the existing coax network in our house. There are 4 wires coming from an SW44 switch running to 4 different rooms. As of now only 3 receiver are being used. However, one is a dual tuner PVR and I would like to re-route one of the lines. This...

Single tuner to dual tuner, one cable?

I'm not able to run a second cable, but I fixed the problem. I was able to split the single cable into two with a standard coax splitter. I guess the existing SW44 switch that is pumping the signal through the house's coax network has enough power to us the regular splitter. Thanks anyway!

Single tuner to dual tuner, one cable?

The house I moved in to already had a satellite installation. When it was installed, they used the house's existing cabling. The installer hooked the dish and switch into the house's junction point. I unhooked the existing single tuner HD receiver and I am now using my Bell 9200 (I believe it's...

    9220 with basic cable?

Crud, thanks. Any idea where I can get a Rogers 8300HD for cheaper than what Rogers sells it for? I can't seem to find any on ebay or craigslist. I'm in Toronto.

    9220 with basic cable?

So here's the deal... I have a BEV 9220. As much as a I love the service with bell, I had to cancel it because I moved into a house where cable is included in my rent, and I'm unable to mount a dish. If I hook my cable line into my 9220's "cable in" input, I can find all the analog channels...

    9220 question

I have a 9220. I am moving next week, into an apartment where Rogers Cable is included in the rent. I have quite a few movies stored on my PVR, and I don't want to lose them. I was wondering, is there a way to rip these movies off the hard drive and burn them to a DVD, or possibly put them on...
