Signal loss only during the day

I had a bad switch that would fail every day when the sun hit it. I tracked it down to the switch by using a hair dryer to heat the various components and a cold wet rag to cool them.

How to get rid of 200 zero length recordings

We had a snow storm in Denver last week and the system was dropping in and out while trying to record a program. It left 200 zero length recordings on my 522 DVR. Is there any way to do a multiple delete instead of selecting and deleting each recording? What a pain!

heavy snow on the dish is a problem When we get a heavy snow in Colorado I have to go out and brush the dish off. But that may not be a big problem in Houston. :)

Switch Problems! I lost my TV!

I had a similar problem During the afternoon when the sun got on the south side of the house I would lose signal. Draped cold, wet dishrags over the LNBs and made sure they didn't obstruct the signal. Still had the problem. Cooled the DP34 with a window fan and everything was OK. Warmed it...

    Faulty SuperDishes?

lose signal with warm afternoon temperatures I was losing signal when the sun got on the satellite side of the house. Thought it might be the the LNB so draped a small cold dish rag over the top of the LNB where it didn't interfere with the signal. Didn't seem to make a difference. Then I...

    Massive Overscan on TV2 Output

Don't know if this is your problem, but they do supply an attenuator if you're only driving one TV. Seems the drive level is higher on TV2 output to drive a cable throughout the house. My TV2 worked OK with or without it.

How to view 522 playback progress bar

When playing back a recorded program, or one being recorded, it would be nice to pop up the progress bar at the bottom of the screen. The DVR can be paused and the bar will appear showing how long the program is, where the playback is at and where the record activity is. Is there any way to do...

Faint Vertical/Diagnal lines over solid colors

Great picture with well shielded S-Video cable After reading a few web sites I began to suspect that my poor picture and diagonal lines were due to the cheap S-Video cable supplied with the 522. I located a couple of likely good cables made by Velocity and Monster. They both use 75 ohm coax...

    522 L2.06 Improvements

L2.06 seems better It may be that I am working off a fresher re-boot but most of the video/audio syncing problems seem to have disappeared. The box seemed pretty acceptable during several hours of use. I still had a couple of 1 second audio drops playing back programs. Once while two...

Faint Vertical/Diagnal lines over solid colors

found the problem with my setup My problem turned out to be the S-video cable from the 522 to my TV. When I unhooked the S-video and plugged in the yellow RCA cable, the video was perfect. You can see every pixel. No more coming and going of diagonal lines according to the program or the...

Faint Vertical/Diagnal lines over solid colors

Jennifer, I have the same lines on my setup with the 522 coming into the Video1 input on my TV using S Video cable. My VCR is coming into the Video2 input of the TV on RCA jacks. My local attic antenna is going into the BNCs of the TV and VCR. Thanks for the info on where you are so...
