How to view 522 playback progress bar

When playing back a recorded program, or one being recorded, it would be nice to pop up the progress bar at the bottom of the screen. The DVR can be paused and the bar will appear showing how long the program is, where the playback is at and where the record activity is. Is there any way to do this without getting out of the play mode?

The only way I know to get the actual display bar you describe is to hit the PAUSE button. But that pauses playback while the bar is being displayed.

You can hit the CANCEL button in the middle of playback and it will put a banner showing similar info on the screen. Contrary to what you'd expect from the button label, it doesn't really cancel anything when used in this scenerio. It just pops up the banner and leaves the show playing in the background.

Thanks for the tip! I try to avoid catching up with live TV and commercials if possible.
