I doubt if you would see any significant difference between D* and E*. I've compared 1080i programming over the air and with the same program through the Dish satellite (Eastern Arc) and I can't see any significant difference on a 52" Samsung unless I am within 6" (yes, six inches) of the screen.

I have a 55" Samsung and I can see no difference between OTA HD locals and Dish HD locals at normal viewing distances. I can see only a very slight degradation when carefully observing the screen from just a few inches away. Obviously, I'm quite pleased with the Eastern Arc performance!

If you are interesed in the Big Ten network, then you won't get it included in your package (without additional cost) if you move to Charleston, since WV is not a Big Ten school state.

I was able to answer my own question on Friday. I now have a "pure" Eastern Arc setup (61.5, 72.7 & 77 only) with Cincinnati locals. I receive the Dayton stations over the air. The electronic program guide includes complete information for all of the stations.

It's needed for improved security against hackers.

You don't need a switch at all. Just run two coax lines from the dish to the two receiver inputs, or run just one coax line from the dish to a Dish Network separtor, and then from the separator to the two receiver inputs.

Just watch it on the local ABC broadcast channel.
