722K and Sony TV HDMI dropouts

Haven't tried a new cable yet. I suppose I could. It isn't the TV, at least not the TV alone. Other HDMI-connected devices work fine. This behavior is limited to the VIP722K.

722K and Sony TV HDMI dropouts

Hi all, We've had a 722K attached (HDMI) to our Sony KDL-40V5100 for some time now without any real problems. Once in a long while the sound would stop working and we'd have to pull the plug on the TV to get it working again. Sony found the problem and released a firmware update for the TV...

OFFICIAL DISH / FOX ORDEAL DISCUSSION THREAD

I must say that while I really like Dish Network, this is getting ridiculous. We've been customers for less than a year and this is the second time that channels have gone bye-bye. If we lose local Fox channels, I'll be pretty disappointed, and if Fox Soccer Channel disappears, I feel sorry...

any standard policy for pole mounts?

We were originally going to have ours pole mounted. There were no additional charges. The dishes ultimately were mounted on the side of the house though since there is a gas line nearby...they would've had to call and have everything marked. Would've preferred the pole, but I'm okay with the...

    TV Recommendation

You can't go wrong with Samsung in my opinion, particularly the series 6, but your eyes will tell you which is the "one." Go to a store like Best Buy so you can see a large variety of TVs next to each other. I think most people end up preferring the picture of a certain make best.

HD locals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA timeframe??

Anyone else have their fingers crossed that you'll be able to watch HD locals tomorrow?

    how dish donates to charities

Yes, I could see wanting the donation to be from Dish Network staff or something like that, but in reality, you are a part of Dish Network. I'm sure that they aren't looking to upset anyone. At least they do something to raise money for a good cause. That's more than a lot of companies do.

    Remotes

I can assure you that both are. I have Dish and use both of mine with no problems. My borther has DirecTV and uses his with no problems. I just checked and I found both with no problems. Set the device to cable/satellite box>satellite and both Dish Network and DirecTV are listed as...

    Remotes

I definitely recommend Harmony remotes. I have the 700 and the One. They both do a terrific job, and Logitech definitely stands behind them. If you have a defective unit they just disable it and send you a brand new one.

Does anyone have any information/experience with this wireless device?

You could also use any number of wireless bridges out there. They're usually called "Gaming adapters." They're just a box that turns a wireless connection into an ethernet port. So, you input your wireless network configuration and connect your receiver using a standard ethernet cable...

HD locals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA timeframe??

Interesting. They should have put you on EA with 119 (i'm pretty sure) for sd locals. It's strange how they aren't consistent about anything. They moved you to WA, they've added a third dish for a number of people to pick up 72, and in my case, they put up the EA dish with a dpp44 giving me...

    BBB sat complaints

While I believe that a majority of complaints are the consumer being completely wrong (US consumers have some sort of entitlement problem), there are certainly many legit complaints. The satellite companies could likely do everything possible to make someone aware that they are getting a...

HD locals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA timeframe??

Awesome! I really hope this is true! Just out of curiosity, at the time that I was set up on EA there really wan't anything on 77. Is that still true? Only reason I ask is because we are currently on a 61.5/72/110/119 setup. This would offer us the opportunity to drop to a single dish...
