Portable dome and Dish HD in RV

I would avoid the tailgator. It requires a short cable, mine never worked well. King support was non existent. I switched to a dish on a tripod.

    New To RV Dish

I am still having occasional trouble finding a signal. My cheap satfinder is useless. What meter should I look into? A search here didn't help.

    Wally signal loss

Ok. The screen says complete signal loss. I have tried a spare lnb. My satfinder says I should have 13 to 18 volts in the coax cable. I have 0. I tested at the Wally. Could the Wally be toast? I am a beginner at this. Thanks.

    Wally signal loss

My RV Wally receiver has quit. I have it connected to a full size dish, western lnb. I have been testing the signal. My cheap satfinder tells me I should have 13 to 18 volts. This must be from the center pin to the swiveling nut? Mine is 0 volts, at the Wally. Am I testing correctly?

    Wally DVR setup

I have activated my Wally to a DVR. I was hoping to transfer the programs from the hopper to the USB , to view in the RV later, using the Wally . Will this be possible? We are leaving for warmer climates soon, and I'm not sure I can get the programs recorded on the Wally beforehand .

Confusion re. Dish system for RV

Are you going to be off the power grid? My Wally, tv with a regular dish draws 90 watts. Using a dome would draw more. Another question, if I upgrade my Wally to a DVR , do I need a new remote?

    Dish for Camper

I am one of those off with endless tailgator problems. I've switched to a dish on a tripod .

No reception whatsoever. New Wally installation.

I have had many similar problems with mine. Are you using a tailgator, or a dish on a tripod? I've had better luck with the dish. I have both .

    More Wally and tailgater woes

I feel your pain . What you are experiencing is what happens to me. After giving up on the tailgator, I bought a regular dish on a tripod . I then went back to try again with the tailgator. I was finally told by dish outdoors, try a new,25' cable. That has worked so far. It's all voodoo to me.
