Cannot get a lock with AIM and 3-LNB

SATs 110 and 119 are at least ten degrees to the lower right of 101 ... One of these days I might look up what my AIM is "seeing" when it's getting such a strong signal from an incorrect source, but it's honestly never concerned me, I'm just aware that it does and increase my elevation by about...

Cannot get a lock with AIM and 3-LNB

I'm not sure what those SATs are, but I know for a fact my Aim hits on them all the time... Mid East Coast they're low to the left of DTV's... You'll get a great signal strength (almost too good) but never a lock... My tried and proven resolution is to aim purposefully high then work down from...

Cannot get a lock with AIM and 3-LNB

Just reread your post (in full this time)... You're clearly aware of the tuning parameters... (sorry) So just skip past that blather and try my suggested process, it's always worked for me... I'm in the middle east coast so my tilts are never far from sixty... But tilt settings are another...

Cannot get a lock with AIM and 3-LNB

First let's clarify terms... Tilt is the deviation of the reflector from horizontal and should be set at between 60-62° (I always just lock mine at 60 unless tuning for an SL5 or RB5)... Azimuth and Elevation are the common adjustment parameters... A bent dish will present problems on SATs 99...

    4K install and equipment question

... I'd avoid the HS17, get the 44 upgraded to the 54, and swap the C41 for the C61K. The RB3 is also no charge, and all of this should cost nothing (except the adding of 4K content to your regular programming). Watch the tech when he swaps the lnb and make sure he performs the EIV test at the...

Moving What's the Best Overall Option???

If it were me I'd just keep what I had and let a technician hook everything up on a "move" ticket. No renewed commitment and just continuing your original package leaves your options open should the cable company prove to have a more attractive offer, plus you'll still have the option to...

    Hs 17

No more than to get any other Genie (HR44, HR54) that I'm aware of. "Your mileage may vary" ;)

Next Generation DTV NOW Coming This Spring

It always seems to be "hit or miss" for me trying to force updates ... was shown the way I described and seemed to have better success with it.

C41W-100 wireless box freezing issue with genie 2

Yes, but only if you have a power inserter at the location where the Genie used to be (and also assuming that the unused cable in the room you're moving it into is still connected to the splitter) unless you want to rearrange the connections at the splitter. The HR54 and HS17 have power...

    Hs 17

Yep, that's me ... lol ... just put one in, a week or so ago, for a new customer here in North Carolina.

Next Generation DTV NOW Coming This Spring

All the more reason to try forcing an update of the software on the Genie. Press MENU, then SETTINGS & HELP, then SETTINGS and the beginning screen will be INFO & TEST. Read the date which should at least as new than this January. I believe the latest software is 0xd8f if I'm not mistaken. If it...

Next Generation DTV NOW Coming This Spring

Mine works just fine. The best part of ISP connectivity (imho) is being able to jump into a live show half-way through it and reset to the beginning. Try forcing a software update and see if that helps.

Quick question on running 2 T.V.'s

If you split the cable and have two different boxes feeding each TV they won't be exactly in sync. The easiest way is to utilize the multiple outputs (HDMI, Component, Composite) from the same box to feed each of the two TVs .... it's called "mirroring". ;)

C41W-100 wireless box freezing issue with genie 2

Any WiFi routers should to be at least four feet away from the WVB to eliminate any possible interference. For clarity, by "Genie2" are you referring to the HS17 (triangle shaped tower) or an HR44 or HR54 (there's a lot of confusion about that nickname). The HS17 has the WVB built into it and...

C41W-100 wireless box freezing issue with genie 2

... Try relocating the WVB and client to optimize the wireless connection's signal strength.
