There seems to be a huge bug in Dish implementation of this update. For people who have a 4 stream package, if you don't have a compatible 4K TV, regardless if you are trying to watch 4K, the update causes the hopper box to crash whenever Netflix is launched.

You should read what the OP said, he isn't trying to watch 4K. I am having the EXACT same problem. This has nothing to do with us trying to watch 4K, we aren't even selecting any video, the Hopper demands HDCP 2.2 when we launch Netflix and crashes the box immediately when it doesn't detect...

What do you mean it doesn't work? Comcast uses the Xfinity Go app, which has HBO Live and On Demand built in, which allows multiple accounts to be created and 3 simultaneous streams. It has 40 or 50 other channels that can viewed live too, such as ESPN, Showtime, Disney, Starz, CNN, and more...

Don't get me wrong I am happy with Dish still, but I miss how on Xfinity multiple people could watch live TV while mobile. I could watch HBO live at the gym, and at the same time someone else could watch ESPN live in a car, and a third person could watch Showtime live on their mobile device...

It wasn't really free. I am still leasing the equipment. I am paying $160 when I can purchase the box outright for $280. If I do purchase the box, do I still pay the $15 month box fee?

Reading the thread the reason for the $150 is because I just got my Hopper w/Sling equipment yesterday.

Very annoyed I am being charged $160 upgrade fee. I have a high score too, so that wasn't the reason. The rep refused to waive the fee and even charged me a tech fee. Not happy.

I am interested in a Hopper 3.
