    DW. Deutsche Welle on 103

Is it an HD feed now? I know Lyngsat says it's DVB-S2 in MPEG4 on a different transponder now. No information on Deutsche Welle's website as it seems like it's "protected" information due to their silly agreements with Dish. I hope they never encrypt it.

PPV Purchases still left on card/receiver

I suppose you could say personal vendetta.

PPV Purchases still left on card/receiver

I don't want to reactivate anything, I just want the account owner to be charged for the PPV purchases still on the access card and receiver, and I want to make sure they get dialed in. Right now it's powered on without the satellite dish connected to it, but it's connected to the phone line...

PPV Purchases still left on card/receiver

I have a Directv Receiver that has been used for years, but the phone was never plugged in. 4 PPV purchases (they might be adult, it really doesn't say) were made via the remote, probably around 2003 or 2004, and never gotten called in to Directv, so they stayed in past purchases for years. The...

    Source for a 2.4m dish

I won't be able to mount anything that requires a pole, that's why I want something with a ground mount like I have. Sadoun doesn't seem to sell one that is ground mounted, only pole.

    Source for a 2.4m dish

I'd like to get a 2.4m dish to replace my 1.8m dish that won't pick up DW-TV anymore. I want a 2.4m dish with a ground mount like the one on the left, to replace the one on the right: I am not able to find a reseller that sells the Fortec Star 2.4m. I know there are equivalents, just rebranded...

    DC2 Channel hunting

DCII is still used for a little over half of the SD channels on any cable or pizza dish system. Most are unfortunately encrypted as you already know. There are a good amount of HD channels available on cable and pizza dish systems that still use DCII split and combined mode. HBO, Starz, and a...

    Smallest Dish for QVC?

If you use an offset dish you need a conical scalar ring for your C band feed. A 4 foot should work, but a 6 footer would work much better. I only got QVC on my 8 footer, and I know the bit error rate was very low, and the signal is easy to lock. I can receive it now very easily, actually. This...

    The Old PBS HD

It's schedule matches up with my local affiliate, I think each PBS affilliate simulcasts it and timeshifts it. Charlie Rose is timeshifted an hour after NOVA, but NOVA was on schedule.

    The Old PBS HD

The breaks on 12140V are previews of upcoming shows and PBS advertisements. No black, no test pattern, it's as if everything is completely packaged for home viewing. When it shows previews for upcoming shows, it even gives a time for them which match when they show them. The TV listings are on...

    The Old PBS HD

I could never receive it in my 6 footer, no matter how hard I tried. I do want to get an 8 foot ground mount. Anyone recommend a source for a Fortec or equivalent with a ground mount that will support a sponsor and this this forum?

does the focal point on the dmx741 vary from c to k this much?

I used this same LNBF and on my 1.8 meter, and just like many on this forum, it was either C or Ku. It worked very well for picking up DW-TV (this was two years ago). I decided I wanted a commercial feed and LNB, so I got a Chaparral dual polarity output feed horn with a Norsat LNB for DW-TV and...

    The Old PBS HD

Since Wikipedia mentioned PBS's Ku services, does that mean 12140V and 12180V are for us as well because they are prepackaged with breaks, etc? Ku dish antennas are easier and cheaper for people to install, where C is more expensive and harder, but much more reliable when it comes to rain fade...

does the focal point on the dmx741 vary from c to k this much?

After being spoiled by Norsat and Zinwell, they are the only LNBs I'll ever use. I love commercial LNBs.

    Let Deutsche Welle know!

Sandbags aren't a bad idea. :) For my 1.8m I used cinder blocks as weights. It's on top of a wooden pallet. It's been there for 3 years, and now NASA TV lights up. :/ The 2.4m was originally on a smaller pallet with more weight. Apparently it wasn't enough because this happened: So I put more...
