the whole dtv cinema adapter thing is stupid anyway, since it is a modem just for pay per view (does not make sense to me--why can't they route my dvr through my modem?) But in any case, I got mine for free during my install last July.
pressing buttons 12 times over....stupid way to fix it...DirecTV should have had things in working order at noon ET today, as big as they allegedly are!
I have noticed that some cinema stuff does not look all that better in 1080p. DirecTV says all of their Cinema 1080p output is supposed to be like blu-ray but it ain't so.
In any event, they told me up front that the free NFLST was contingent upon package selection etc, so I do not feel the least bit deceived. Just get me on that jury :)
Ironic, because trees blocking HD was one of the reasons that I switched from DirecTV to Dish. Dish also seems to handle the rare southern California rain fade a lot better as well.
