I threatened to cancel the day before the season started and I got a $10 credit for 6 months - not bad. Last year in October they wouldn't budge on NHL Center Ice so maybe they're down to one negotiating trick a year now.

MLB and their blackouts. Heaven forbid someone pays for and actually watches a game they're not supposed to. Sometimes I wish i could wean myself off sports and bid farewell to this insipid crap.

With DirecTV as soon as a major storm comes in rain fade kills the TWC signal anyway - so no loss. :)

I haven't watched TWC since they fired Dave Schwartz and Kristina Abernathy. The NOAA's weather website is 100x more useful anyway.

I've seen that too, on channels such as NBC Sports (220) etc. My guess is it's probably very easy to insert a local ad using your local channel's spot beam on a cue from the network. I actually like it, since I hate seeing a juicy ad for a meal and realize it's at a chain that's 2000 miles away :)

They don't even want the more-recent D11 (small silver boxes) back.

Most laptops today have an HDMI output port and you can pipe Gamecenter from there to your TV set no problem. I do it all the time. Same for games, youtube videos, etc.

It's been awful since they upgraded the font to a more HD-like appearance. I liked ScoreGuide 1.x a lot better for its reliability.

I never knew CI included NHL network. It wasn't in the past. Maybe you were given wrong info by CS. AFAIK they're 2 completely different entities.

Those with MLB EI will be able to watch any Saturday games starting next season due to the new Fox agreement. Like in Sunday Ticket, there's no blackout of other games if the local team is playing the afternoon game. Finally! No more checking the506.com to see what games aren't being aired...

Same here in AZ - blacked out. The Fox game is later in the day and previously all Saturday AM games were on EI. However: I looked at the D* MLB-EI schedule for today and the game isn't listed, so for some reason it isn't supposed to be aired. Go figure.

Only if the dish is mounted on a piece of wood that swells to the point the dish goes out of alignment. That would be quite unusual but I suppose it is possible, after all.

Who controls the blackouts on D* programming? I don't mean what shows get blacked out but who or what actually throws the switch or clicks the mouse that actually shuts off the show? Reason is, I have the Sports Pack and on SNY (639) the Mets replay game is blacked out until 5pm ET then Daily...
