I have the HR10-250. Does anyone know if all the audio outputs are active simultaneously? I am not using HDMI.
I want the digital audio output to go into an amp and the analog audio outputs to feed a pair of headphones simultaneously.
Long story if you are interested: the audio amplifier...
I have a chance to pick up a used Zenith HD-SAT520 DIRECTV HDTV Receiver.
(I am interested in this because although I have two DirecTV HD receivers on two LCDs, my home theatre projector is currently for DVDs only.) For the big game and other events, it would be nice to have an HD receiver...
MPEG-2 Packet Identifier (PID) changes?
I received this from CBS and thought others might be interested:
Local HDTV broadcasters were recently required by the FCC to change the MPEG-2 Packet Identifier (PID) value at their broadcasting head end to a value above 0x0030. This change had to...
I have the a/v outputs of my DirecTV receiver going into a Pinnacle MovieBox, which then goes into my PC via 1394 (Firewire). Using this, I can capture home movies or TV shows and edit & make movies.
BUT....the "capture" (preview) window in Pinnacle Software is ~300 x 300 pixels.
Does...
My HD signal for CBS in Boston (Channel 4) has no audio.
My setup is a DirecTV HD Dish & Receiver plus I have an OTA antenna.
I receive ABC, Fox, PBS, NBC, etc stations just fine. The picture on CBS is razor sharp, but the audio is missing.
Signal strength is 80%+. I believe the major...
Dragon,
I agree, but it is geek entertainment.
Bill - you gotta post 2 pictures. 1, of yourself on your roof holding a Phase III dish. 2, from the Dish's perspective, looking Southwest, through the forest.
Anyone that has been to Maine or mapquested Bill's zip code has got to wonder...
I don't know Bill's elevation, but living in the woods, at that lattitude, I am surprised he gets DirecTV and very surprised he gets the 3rd, lowest, satellite.
I'm reading this for entertainment. Considering that you live just south of igloos, I will not be surprised if this turns out to be LOS. As for the dishman not knowing a pine from a spruce....he's the one who knew how to use a compass. ...
as posted in classifieds, see below. private message me to discuss:
Hughes Receivers:
1. Director's Pack Model HBH-HA with Remote, manual, cables.
2. Platinum Edition Model HIRD-E45 with remote, manual, cables.
3. Dual LNB for round dish.
Doorstops.
Yeah, that's what I figured, but even if a non-profit could afford the monthly D* fee, they'd have free new boxes too. My attic is turning into a supply depot of old technology.
Has anyone had success unloading / selling their old D* receivers?
Once you upgrade to HD, you have several doorstops.
I see them on eBay, but are they selling? How much?
Enough to make shipping worth it?
Seems like a waste to just pitch it.
Bill:
Please tell us where you live (approximatley). Curious about your LOS.
My trick to determing LOS before buying D* was to know where in the sky the sats are and then cross referencing where a bright star is. e.g., I knew that if I could see Orion @ 10pm from my desired dish location...
Re-aligned.
The dish was professionally re-aligned yesterday. All 3 sats are now at 88%+. That was 3pm.
What remains to be seen is what happens at night. If indeed I lose Sat C, as before, I assume I have a bad LNB.
