    Cancelling Service--procedures

nope; I had a number of shows recorded on the DVR that I would have liked to watch periodically....also, for some odd reason, I still got NASA and National Geographic after I canceled, so I would have been able to watch that as well. In any event, it's packed up now...next time I'll probably...

    Cancelling Service--procedures

No, I was mislead; I distinctly remember asking about the DVR and if I owned it or if I had to send it back if I canceled service after the contract; I was assured that as long as I was out of contract, if I canceled, I would still get to keep the DVR. not a misconception, again, I was misled.

    Cancelling Service--procedures

ok, it's not that I don't believe you guys here, it's just that I don't want to send something back that I don't necessarily need/have to....I wanna make sure. So, this sounds like a case of Radio Shack misleading me over 2 years ago; they led me to believe that I'd get it for free, and that...

    Cancelling Service--procedures

I didn't have DVR advantage I started out with their (at the time) highest package....then I dropped down to the family package. the only charges I had were: Package charge DVR Free ($5.95) $5.00 fee (not having phone line plugged in) that's it.....well, taxes too :P

    Cancelling Service--procedures

I understand they want leased receivers back.... but again, I was never charged a leasing fee: I have 1 [one] dual-tuner DVR (nothing more, nothing less)...wouldn't this get me charged a leasing fee?

    Cancelling Service--procedures

Ok, I haven't recently canceled Dish Network, as I'm not getting what I would like to out to out of it, and it's just another expense....so anyway: when I first signed up, I was given a free DVR and free installation....all the time I've had the DVR I have not been charged a lease/rental fee...

dish is on the way out

the perfect situation for a DirecTV+Dish Network merger, once again....hopefully it won't be denied this time.

    Think I could...

ok last question.... let's say I am able to talk to retentions (and let's assume that they will be giving me this package)...is it possible for me to get this package before getting an HD receiver or DVR? Obviously, if this were the case, it'd make my current receiver worthless....but here's...

    vip722S

Does anyone know when the Slingbox version of the vip722 is due out?

    Think I could...

Ok--I thought if it was a single-tuner DVR you wouldn't be charged *shrug* guess I was wrong.

    Think I could...

the 722S? When is that coming out? Also, if you always want the latest toy, and you don't buy new receivers...what do you do then? Lease them? If so, how much does that cost? On a side note, if I had to settle for a vip612, I would not have to pay the $5 a month DVR free, correct? It'd just be...

    Think I could...

another quick question....obviously if I purchase my own vip722 (or 622...it'd have to be dual), and I am able to get this package via retentions, will I have to sign a new contract?

    Think I could...

Thanks guys--just thought I'd get a general feel for things before I bail. Either way, I doubt I'll be able to scrap together that kind of money...but who knows; either way, thanks again.

    Think I could...

I've been a Dish customers for approximately 2+ years now...when HD came out, it was totally out of the question, as it required +$20 onto the package you were subscribing to. Eventually I downgraded to the "Family Pack" as I found that I wasn't watching TV that often and the channels I did...
