RVer needs suggestions for changing service address

Still hoping a DIRT member might share with us a special phone number for handling change of service address requests for RVers. Lacking that, I will try the CS chat method.

RVer needs suggestions for changing service address

Since All American Direct has gone out of business it appears the only option for RVers to receive major network stations is to call Dish and request a service address change when changing locations. My experience with trying this in the past has been less than satisfactory when trying to get a...

    No more DNS?

Update... I went to Dish.com to the forums and found an answer from Dish that says this is true, they are dropping DNS as of 11-15-12. I guess Dish Customer Service is in the dark in this one.

    No more DNS?

Ok, I'm confused. I just got off the phone, speaking with Havier in Dish customer service, and he says their system has no record of distant network locals going away. I explained to him that I had received an email from Dish saying that DNS would be provided by All American Direct in the...

    Moving from condo to RV

OK. Based on the excellent information I have received here and from the dirt team, here's what I'm going to try. I am going to complete and email in: A completed Recreational and Commercial Vehicle Declaration - Distant Network Service Authorization Request A photocopy of the current...

    Moving from condo to RV

@Brussam. That's exactly what I want to do, except I want to keep my current 722 since it has a lot of recordings I'd rather not lose. Is there a way to change my condo account over to the RV and keep the same DVR?

    Moving from condo to RV

One more thought. I want to get this officially sanctioned by Dish so I don't get the lecture on how my vip722 isn't allowed to leave the house.

    Moving from condo to RV

She indicated that what I want to do normally takes a second account. She also suggested that I call dish whenever I land in a new location, give them the local address and get locals that way. That doesn't sound feasible as when we are traveling we move every couple of days and I'm sure...

    Moving from condo to RV

Sorry, I was away from the computer for few days. No answer from MaryB yet. I thought Dish was once again offering distant networks and that's what I want. But, I also believe that's not possible until I give up my condo installation or get a second account (which I don't want to do). Giving up...

    Moving from condo to RV

I'm hoping to get some guidance on how to take Dish with us. We are planning on traveling for 9 months per year for the next several years. Last year we traveled in the RV for 6 months and took our VIP722 with us. It performed great with the exception that we didn't have access to ABC, CBS...

Interesting Conversation with Dish about using my 722 on the road in my RV

Then, I guess I'm on the right track. I already have the 110-119-129 dish. Is All America Direct still furnishing ABC,NBC,etc?? Wasn't there some change coming that would effect who would be supplying distant network stations?

Interesting Conversation with Dish about using my 722 on the road in my RV

You're correct. Jacksonville is my DMA. However, when traveling in south Florida in late January 2011 (thus out of my DMA) I couldn't receive any Jacksonville locals.

Interesting Conversation with Dish about using my 722 on the road in my RV

I called Dish Support and asked about using my VIP722 this summer in the RV. I was asking about how to get network channels (ABC,NBC, etc) while camped hundreds or even thousands of miles away from home. They told me that if I would purchase another receiver to take with me on my travels I...

Using a single lnb dish to connect to 119

OK, I'll try running check switch. I'll be going over to the RV Thursday or Friday and I'll test it then. Thanks.

Using a single lnb dish to connect to 119

A new dish would be nice, but that's probably not in the cards for the near future. Before I do that I'll need to upgrade the TV in the RV (it's analog) and sort out some cabling issues. Maybe later this year or early next. I do have portable 1000.2 I'll be using for those times when I'm...
