    HD PVR800 FEATURE DVB-S2

Yeah, my mistake. I was thinking 4:2:2! Sorry about that!

    HD PVR800 FEATURE DVB-S2

I'm sure the Koreans who built the Coolsat would like to know that they are now Chinese. He's in China. (oops, Lak7 beat me too it! ;) )Those satellites are not. If you want S2 tests from those satellites, you'll have to capture the stream data like Pendragon did and put it on an...

SO I scored a couple Primestar Dishes

Dish's? I didn't know they could own property! ;) Anyway, I'd definitely check before taking a dish away. Don't want to get run up for property theft on accident.

FSS Stacked LNB Superdish type 2

From the front, that LNB looks like the one in the Dish 1000+ that picks up 118.7, but with the housing removed. The 1000+ setup, however, doesn't have any LNB slot for 105. It just has slots for 110 and 129. Very peculiar, indeed! ;)

    G18 & AMC 21

Mine is on a motor, so I know I'm not halfway. It must have just be a some snort of snafu on the Coolsat 5k's blindscan, as I'm not seeing it now. Weird! And just a note that the Montana PBS listed during a scan is actually the legislature. You can tell by the boring people talking about stuff...

    White Springs is missing again

Maybe they just stream it off of the internet and beam it out that way. I recall their old site had stuff about affiliates using the streaming.

    Amazonas-2 bird launch on 9-29-09

Sorry to meander off topic, but does anyone remember when Amazonas had that Black Belt TV channel? Very entertaining advertisements. I see they are streaming online now, a la White Springs. To get back on topic, I'm guessing that this new Amazonas is going to be primarily pointing south, right?

    G18 & AMC 21

I was scanning on Saturday, and I noticed a PBS popping up on that satellite, too. I haven't really checked what it actually is, though. Should probably do that! ;)

    AZBox HD Premium HDD

Heh... you didn't understand what I was saying. Let me clear up the line of thinking: I meant that the receiver is breaking up the files, regardless of formatting. I would imagine it's for easy burning to DVD LATER. Not transcoding to burner. I was just speculating as to why it's breaking it...

    AZBox HD Premium HDD

The boxes won't do NTFS because it's Microsoft's format system. I imagine they'd have to pay a licensing fee to use NTFS. The same for Apple's HFS+. As for the size limitation, I think it has more to do with FAT32 being free and Linux formatting flavors not being as commonly used. And then you...

    Anyone finding any deals...

He was probably an installer/dealer. A lot of them seem to be changing work these days...

Free Sample of the Week - Satellite AV - Ends 9.23.2009

My first FTA was an 18" system from around 1994. The receiver was a little, square black box with a knob your turned to bring in the frequencies (like a radio) and a switch on the back was used to switch between horizontal and vertical polarities. My dad needed it set up to get some sort of...

    Coolsat 5000

I enjoy the people who post Coolsats (or any other FTA-related thing) on eBay and have the gall to put the shipping shipping at $30+. Ah, the joys of eBay!
