This is something that is being caused by new (invalid) metadata intentionally being sent by XM. The 1.5 beta has a workaround that fixes it, you may want to download it if you are having this problem.

It is very easy to set TimeTrax to not record anything less than say, 5 minutes in length. So if there are 3 minutes of commercials (or even a 3 minute commercial), it will be discarded automatically.

Correct on both counts. I'm not sure what the activation period is, but I know XM also sends a "deactivation signal" if your service is to be turned off, so the radio will shut down instantly. TimeTrax's keys are linked to the radio ID.

The new registration key is recorded in your log - open Recast and click on the "Recording Log" checkbox. You'll see it in the log as: New registration key: (key here) Alternatively, contact support and they can send you an email containing all your current codes.

When working with an XM radio, the signal strength is updated approximately every 5 seconds. With working with a Sirius radio, the signal strength is updated whenever the radio feels like sending it, usually every 30 seconds or so.

XM had changed some of the channel data returned with the song information on some channels, and this was causing Recast to ignore the song change information. It has been corrected and will be fixed on the release (should be tomorrow).
