How Can I Bypass "Aquiring Satellite Signal"?

My Apex DT502 output sure looks like HD to me, but the specs say it down converts to 480i. Guess I'm easily pleased. Jerryez, I'm near Milton, FL Gerry

How Can I Bypass "Aquiring Satellite Signal"?

Guess I should have kept my old satellite dish. Oh well, I always have my government subsidized digital converter. Thanks, Gerry

How Can I Bypass "Aquiring Satellite Signal"?

I just switched from Dish to DTV. I own my 622 receiver. My TV is HD, but doesn't have an ATSC tuner. While with Dish, I received my locals via antenna. Now I'd like to use the 622 to get some local channels that DTV doesn't supply. Problem: Whenever I turn on my 622, it starts searching...

Dish Says My Ethernet LAN is Down

True, however if Dish knew how to design systems, I wouldn't need the bloody phone line. Gerry (WB9EBO/4)

Dish Says My Ethernet LAN is Down

Reboot doesn't help. Also, tech support tells me they cannot reload the software. So the only solution is to wait. Anyhow, tech support did call me back today as promised. He didn't argue when I blamed Dish for this whole thing. In retrospect, when I originally connected the 622 to my LAN...

Dish Says My Ethernet LAN is Down

Well, (and I suspected this would happen,) everything's okay now. I checked just before I went to bed and it was still broke. Checked first thing this morning and it's fixed. My broadband is on 24/7. I did nothing to affect the system. However, Dish did their normal 3 a.m. routine...

Dish Says My Ethernet LAN is Down

Disconnected all CAT5 cables from my switch in the living room except for the 622. I power cycled the switch. Still doesn't work. My three computers in the computer room have fixed IP's nowhere near the DHCP range. Can I assign a fixed IP to the 622?

Dish Says My Ethernet LAN is Down

Okay - 622 receiver connected to both my phone line and ethernet. I just downloaded a movie two days ago through my LAN to my 622 Home Theater. Now I go back to Home Theater and my receiver tells me it doesn't see the LAN. I ran LAN Spy from the router end and it sees the 622 and gives me...

Does Anyone at Dish Know What's Going On?

Well, the IP of the 622 generally stays at 101 and I have a static IP from bellsouth, so if Dish has trouble locating me, it's not my fault. My complaint was more about the folks at Dish knowing company policy. Thanks folks, Gerry

Does Anyone at Dish Know What's Going On?

I have an ethernet connection to my 622 receiver. My ethernet connects 24/7 to broadband. I even have a battery backup and can't recall the last time my ethernet was down. Three times so far I've turned my set on and a message has come up telling me that in order to avoid a supplemental...
