    Losing HD Absolute. Any suggestions?

If you need more than OTA, I still think Dish is the best option. I am settling with OTA and Netflix for the time being. I do have to say that I'm impressed with the quality of OTA HD, much better than dish and cable companies.

    Losing HD Absolute. Any suggestions?

It's that inconsistency that makes me glad I canceled at this point. A lot of people weren't offered anything more than $10, including me...and it isn't a longevity thing, I was a VOOM customer that was sucked into Dish.

    Losing HD Absolute. Any suggestions?

It should be $13/month..so if you run the numbers, 48 months on your current unit x $13/month = $576, a lifetime subscription is $299, so the ROI on a lifetime subscription is roughly 23 months (~2 years), after that you are saving money. However, they complicate things a bit more by...

    Losing HD Absolute. Any suggestions?

Yep, I have an old SD Tivo that I was using before I switched to VOOM, the interface is definitely the best out there. I emailed Tivo and they said that you can still call in to talk to them about a lifetime subscription. I would probably want one of the premier units though.

Either $12/month or $19/month depending on what you pay upfront, which is why I would like to find a lifetime subscription Tivo. The lifetime subscription has no monthly charge.

It still only does old VCR type time based recording, Tivo is much more advanced than that.

    Losing HD Absolute. Any suggestions?

Yep, I've seen that one, at that price I would rather wait for a Tivo, I had a tivo many years ago and it was actually very good. Someone on the forum mentioned this Sezmi: Smart, Affordable DVR which I haven't ever seen before...it looks interesting but it isn't in my area.

It was the same situation for me. I really liked natgeo. In the end, I ended up just canceling and going OTA (we already have netflix). Now that it's been canceled for a week+, I can say that I am happy I went that route, it's nice to save $50+/month. Dish really went about this thing...

Lost absolute now I have to pay to send their equipment back.

I was more upset that they had my 622 shown as a lease device when I actually bought it...It was like $499 when I bought it. The problem arose when they said they couldn't go back any further than a year in the records and that I had to show proof of buying it. They couldn't go back more than...

    Losing HD Absolute. Any suggestions?

what's funny is I just canceled yesterday and they are already emailing me promos because they "want me back" (with a 2 year term of course) no thanks dish, you had your chance to keep me, offer me the same deal you were offering other people, instead you refused to work with me even though...

    Losing HD Absolute. Any suggestions?

the inconsistency in the offer is lame, if they would have offered me $20 off for 6 months, then $10 off they may have kept my business why offer it only to certain customers? I've been a customer every since Dish took over Voom.

    Losing HD Absolute. Any suggestions?

canceled, was great while it lasted, I don't think there is a better offering out there right now, I just can't justify the cost increase the loyalty department didn't offer me $20 off for the first 6 months, in fact, you need to be careful if you are holding out because you are paid up through...

    Losing HD Absolute. Any suggestions?

I don't think it is "easily" resolved at all, I just had a 30m chat session to get them to remove the dvr-integration fee which was $4, no other changes, and they changed my locals from $6 to $10 after the chat session...makes no sense at all.

    Losing HD Absolute. Any suggestions?

dish almost makes you want to cancel just because they are so clueless, however, nobody is going to be any different my bill now shows: DISHHD ABSOLUTE: $29.99 Locals: $10.00 DVR Service: $6.00 ................. Total: $45.99 (excludes taxes / credits) I haven't heard of anyone being charged...
