    Need new receiver - Suggestions?

I was going to ask the same question, but I want an FTA receiver that has an ATSC input. I want to watch PBS at 125W as well as several OTA channels. My Pansat 9200 HD works well but they're getting harder to get. My next FTA receiver is for my second HDTV which has a lousy ATSC tuner. The X2...

My Pansat 9200HD always reads S:25, Q:25 when aiming at 125W

I bought an Avenger PLL322S-2 to replace my Invacom QPH-031. I tested it on SES-2 (87W) I found zero difference in quality. Anyways, it was a whole lot cheaper than my Invacom so it still gets a hearty recommendation from me. J

My Pansat 9200HD always reads S:25, Q:25 when aiming at 125W

On the day I had it working there was no pixellation at all. It was also very dreary outside. The problem doesn't seem to be weather-dependent. I go up on the roof to adjust, the receiver will still read S:25, Q:25 no matter how much I tweak the dish. I do have a 120cm dish that I am itching to...

My Pansat 9200HD always reads S:25, Q:25 when aiming at 125W

I am having a devil of a time getting PBS channels on 125W and I cannot figure out the cause so I am not sure where to even post this question. Since I only have a 30" dish I am only trying to get the 12180 MHz transponder. I actually had it set up nicely for a day and was watching 8 channels...

Mounting a pole mast without concrete

Hi norman881. It is a small world. I live in Morgantown but work brings me to Wheeling so I drive by Claysville 3x/week. I guess every truck stop has a life cycle. John

Mounting a pole mast without concrete

I just bought a used Andrew 1.2m dish for $99 from a truck stop owner who was going out of business in Claysville, Pa. It looks to be in good shape except for the bird poop. Anyways, it came with a 2-7/8" mast which was bolted onto a trestle. So, I do not have a base to insert the mast into or...

Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

This thread has inspired me. I just bought a used Andrew 1.2m dish for $99 from a truck stop owner who was going out of business in Claysville, Pa. It looks to be in good shape except for the bird poop. I will start off trying to pick up C band transponders. I know 4ft isn't enough really but I...

Can a ground wire run down the trunk of a tree?

Yes the tree is quite flexible. It is also quite mature so it won't be growing much more.

Can a ground wire run down the trunk of a tree?

Hi, I have a highly-directional UHF antenna (Antennas Direct 91XG) mounted on a 10' mast. The coaxial cable is already grounded but the mast is not. I would like to run a ground wire from the mast to the ground. There is a large spruce tree right next to the antenna so it would be very...

Luken Set To Emerge From Bankruptcy By The end of October

I am glad to hear that. I am trying to get a used 6ft dish so that I can point it to SES-2, as well. Many posters have planted doubts in my head over whether a 6ft dish is large enough to get SES-2. My yard is not big enough for a 10ft dish or even an 8ft dish. I'd be interested in knowing...

Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

I drive to work through southeastern Pa. and I always notice a 6ft mesh C-band dish in a pasture that I pass by. I have been thinking about approaching the farmer who owns it to see if he is using it. My question is this: "does rust hurt the performance of a C band mesh dish?" This dish is a...

Considering 99W - Smallest Dish Size?

I e-mailed them a few weeks ago and they said they won't carry it anymore. J

Anyone ever used this dish? Viking Satcom 6' Prime Focus

I ran into your reply while researching C band dishes. I have had a Ku band dish for many years now. What drew me to C band was the possibility of getting network programming on SES 2 (87W). Now that you mentioned Galaxy 16 (99W), that opens up another option. <Anybody here miss Galaxy 10R?>...

TuffTV on 87 SES2 in PA

Thank you for your response. 7 feet is a little too big for my situation. I thought I could get away with a smaller dish because when I look at the footprint for SES 2 (87W) at lyngsat-maps http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/footprints/SES-2-North-America-C.html northern W.Va appears at to receive...

TuffTV on 87 SES2 in PA

I am in North Central W.Va. I have been watching Ku-band satellite programming with my Pansat 9200HD. It usually works well. I have been thinking of getting a 2nd larger C-band dish with a C-band LNBF. I would start by pointing at SES 2 and watching some of the programming on TP 15--it almost...
